If the singer made a prank call to 911 in order to troll an officer on duty, then the choir aren't witnesses, they're accessories. In most municipalities, prank calling 911 is a crime. He'd have been absolutely justified to, at the very least, write all of them tickets for taking part. Given that the fine could be as high as $1000 plus up to a year in jail (unlikely in this case, but still on the table), Nolan would have absolutely had the last laugh if he'd be able to keep his cool throughout the process, especially since he is being recorded. Frankly, I don't even think the bassist or choir would be able to claim ignorance - they had to have practiced the song beforehand, and, once they saw the cops were in uniform and thus likely on duty, they should have stopped immediately if they wanted to claim ignorance of how and why the cops showed up. Still funny, though.

I don't know if I'm missing something but I don't think in the second scene that the band made a fake call (that'd be a crime) but Celina (or whatever the boot's name is) set Nolan up for the prank. That's why she's confirming the details as he's reiterating the dispatch call, because he didn't hear it (because there was no dispatch call). This explains why Sgnt Grey (?) Is giving the boot grief, not for vibing while on duty (because who cares?) but because SHE pranked Nolan or at least helped prank him. The scene at the end with Sgnt Grey never made sense to me until I noticed on a rewatch that Nolan didn't hear the call from dispatch.

How the prank call to 911 wasn't considered a crime, because there wasn't one. 3. Why Sgnt Greg was pissed at Celina, he wasn't pissed because she was vibing, because who cares? He's pissed because she was a part of the prank. This went over my head the first couple of times I saw these scenes and the scene with Srgt Grey confused me because the boot didn't do anything particularly egregious in the bodycam footage (except vibing) UNLESS she was in on it.
