Find the song "Alive" by Melissa O'Neiil. She recorded it in 2005 after she won Canada's version of Canadian Idol. It went Platinum 4x. She was an underdog and ignored in Canada's Idol by the producers in the tryouts and then qualified for public voting by a fantastic performanc. After that surprise and scoring in the top 10 in public votes, they paid attention to her. When the public voting started, the first two weeks, she was in the bottom two and the fear was she would be voted off. Then she took off with her performances and won season 3. She overcame all odds to win that season, then had the hit "Alive." Oddly enough, she only started singing a couple of years before trying out for the show - sort of like it happened with acting. She is just incredibly talented. Note they trusted her voice so much they did not put music to it.

When i watched the episode i was like damn, she's a good singer. Later i realised she has actually won Canadian idol. I felt like an idiot. 😂
