Nice video, i always just point the arrow the direction i want to go. But hadn’t thought about using it to pull something up with. Interesting, but it works Can you do one with a hand and foot ascenders and how you would set it up for best safety and efficiency please? Thank you .

When using the ascender along with the chest croll, what do you need to use to tether the ascender to your harness?

Thanks for the video. Are you able to explain the pro's and cons of using a right handed ascender vs a left handed ascender for a right handed person?

Glad you liked it. Left or right is down to personal preference. Or maybe that a certain rigging set up dictates one or the other. Can't really think of one at the moment. Learning a new movement with your dominant hand is easier. And opening a cam is not that hard so the less dominant hand will also learn with a bit more time. I have got nothing more than that haha.

Quick question: In my country it's mandatory to connect the hand ascender with the harness. What's the best option? I've seen cowtails beeing used. In that case: Would you use a dynamic or static rope? I personally feel like it would be better to use a dynamic rope, like the Teufelberger Dynaflex, but generally ropes used for rope access are half-static DIN EN 1891 ropes, correct? Or couledI use a sling if I could find one in the right length? Or is that way to stiff? That Teufelberger rope is insanely expensive... Thanks for your channel! It's incredibly informative!

Are you sure? Usually countries legislation only gives broad guidelines. Not how do to something exactly. It also depends on manufacturing specs and local or industry standards. Cowstail are made from dynamic EN 892 rope to be able to have some shockabsorbtion properties. And thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😃

Thank you for you reply. That one is in the making but will only be finished after summer 2022 I think. Personally I love getting to a location where you step onto the roof and think how the F are we going to rig this😂

I really enjoy your videos and I have subscribed and I also upvote each one. A small correction though. If the device is not loaded you are able to pull it back down without opening the device by pressing back on the cam.

Thanks for that! It is more of an add on than a correction maybe 😉. That would have been good to include. I do show it in the video on how to actually use them practically to ascent and descent. You can find that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWKzhnehoq59m9k

Have you ever climbed a cat out of a big tree?
@TheRopeAccessChannel
@TheRopeAccessChannel 2 жыл бұрын
Haha great question and yes! Never got close though. It kept climbing higher and higher until the branches could barely support my weight. And finally it got soo scared of chasing it, that it jumped out from 15 meter and ran of straight to its home. So sort of saved the cat... Scary shit though ,a hissing cat with claws extended on a treebranch 1 meter away. 😂😂
