It wouldn't matter if your gun wasn't getting the surge buffs since because it's the overload for this season and you have that active it gets the 25% from being overcharged.

I did the maths on this a while ago, Onslaught is a 37% reduction in your time between shots, meaning the rate of fire is 60% faster as a result. This is effectively a 60% damage increase, with the downside of your mag disappearing overnight. On top of the fire rate buff, Onslaught also provides an invisible reload speed buff of 15/25/35 reload based on your current stacks, that's the same reload stat boost as Stats For All (minus the animation duration multiplier). So yeah Onslaught is pretty nuts.

Speaking of "weird guns that can get old Pinnacle perks and are probably better than you're giving it credit for" Appetance, the Stasis Trace Rifle from the Season of the Wish, can be crafted to have enchanced Overflow / Enhanced Killing Tally. The last time we saw Overflow / Killing Tally *at all* was 21% Delirium, and the enhanced perk just makes it even better. This trace rifle can just chew things up and the only problem is I can't seem to feed it enough special ammo not to use all of it xD

I have a repulsor brace/onslaught Ros Arago that is the main weapon for my Briarbinds Warlock build. Between the overshield and devour being constantly up, it is near-impossible to die when the whole kit is cooking.

Use the same exact build. Honestly feels like an exotic weapon. Also got a repulser brace/wellspring harsh language wave frame for this build. Use it with strand sidearm that has unravel rounds. Pop your rift, unravel first target with strand while sending out void soul. Swap to wave frame and destroy. Gets constant abilities back while clearing rooms with ease.

Its a ton of fun but its a pairing I want to see more on Special or Heavy weapons. Having more rounds is great and all but it does nothing for DPS, only total damage in a single reload. Its a fun gun for sure though

It does change dps BECAUSE there's less reloads. It changes the 2 mag dps, or average dps figure. Though it's not truly relevant to primary dps. (Since you should be killing things within one mag, if you aren't killing things in 1 mag, stop shooting the yellow bar with a primary)

This vid mentioned Datto's exotic pillness, and in his recent GM vid he mentioned avoiding legendary ARs, PRs and Scouts. With this in mind, I wanted to offer counter point, that ARs and PRs this season still perform well in gms, when you build into it mind you. Additionally I'll only be listing ARs, but the same build philosophy applies to PRs With the nerfing of ability mods, the surges became more desirable. Old Sterling Strand 600 rpm AR: 2x surge (17%), Frenzy/Rewind Rounds (15%) Precision Damage 1887, Body Damage 1210. Old Sterling Strand 600 rpm AR: 2x surge (17%), Frenzy/Rewind Rounds (15%), Champ Bonus (25%) Precision Damage 2358, Body Damage 1512 AR also has Field tested, and is farmable from lost sectors, it has poorer surge matching due to strand heavies not being super ground breaking rn. Ros Arago Void 600 rpm AR: 2x Surge (17%) Rewind/Onslaught Precision Damage 1641, Body Damage 1052 Ros Arago Void 600 rpm AR: 2x Surge (17%) Rewind/Onslaught, Champ Bonus (25%) Precision Damage 2051, Body 1315 World Drop only, has the fantastic Wild Card trait, and Onslaught is a noticeable dps boost if you can proc it. These are fine enough numbers to function as good weps along with champ stuns. Plus all 3 free up your Exotic slot. Ros and Levi are definitely a choice, since both are void, and Levi is a fantastic dps tool and champ tool.

My second random drop of this season was a Permeability/Onslaught Ros Arago IV and I've been using it on Strand Hunter with Threaded Specter and Whirling Maelstrom, building into the artifact perks so I can send hordes upon hordes of threadlings and unraveling projectiles while remaining mostly safe, it's pretty fun and surprisingly effective!

Returning player, I was trying to level from 1600 to 1750 and RNGesus graciously granted me a Ros Arago IV, makes you think of a NATO 5.56 rifle with "magic wormhole endless clip" and over-drive receiver like someone stuck flame stickers on it to make it go faster--OMGosh it puts a smile on my face :) Roll: - Extended Barrel / Polygonal Rifling - Alloy Magazine / Appended Mag - Subsistence - Onslaught - Wild Card I can't decided whether to mod it to "Backup Mag" or "Major/Minor Spec", but I imagine in end-game content where even trash/ads are pretty crunchy (and like you say, 20 levels above you)--minor spec as you have done it is the right thing to do :) Now I just feel like I am doing something terribly wrong when it's stash instead of being on me. For me it's that in-case-sh*t LMG with smaller rounds--like a baby gatling ^__^--when I just haven't got any heavy ammo drop in a while.. I have a really dumb roll which is Rewind Rounds+Deconstruct and, I know that Deconstruct is a meme but it's so great how I can just shoot the fuck out of a boss and rarely have to reload. Like I can dump a fuck ton of bullets into a boss and never or rarely reload. It's not efficient DPS by any memes but it's just so fun. Highly recommend if you want to dump a ton of bullets onto a boss. Add back up mag or hell even Actium to never have to reload.

2:25 Void surge wouldn't have mattered here. Any weapon benefitting from an artifact champion mod is overcharged in the relevant content. You would get the same damage buff with or without void surge.

Don’t know if others have recommended it, but Tyranny of Heaven feels great this season. Bows only need 2 precision shots to activate Radiant from the artifact, and unlike the nightfall bow, you can craft it without Dragonfly + Incandescent, which is great in GMs. Also because of the new Wish quests, it’s easier to get red borders

My ideal roll (doubt I will get it lol is Arrowhead + Tactical Mag with Reload Masterwork so that I can reduce downtime while Onslaught is active while also making it just feel incredible)

“And I also didn’t have void surge” this doesn’t matter anyway because any weapon that uses artifact perks for champion capabilities (in this case overload auto), the weapon gets the 25% weapon damage surge buff. Weapon surge is a 25% that can be acquired by the artifact perks (anti champ or origin perk buffs) or by matching the subclass surge. Matching subclass and artifact surge does not stack, you only need one or the other. TLDR: Datto, your ros was getting weapon surge benefits.

i disagree with deconstuct being a bad perk, especially if you're using it with rewind rounds. it is essentially a slightly worse rewind rounds (if it's on a primary ammo weapon) that turns into a better rewind rounds when shooting at a vehicle/construct. i use the same combo on my parabellum and i do have a ros arago with it as well, it's a lot of fun that goes from having to reload every now and then to never.

I use a Permeability/Tricorn one with my Strand and Precious Scars build. Works great. You're off the mark about PVP. This baby COOKS in Crucible, it's got some better control than Quicksilver but a very high DPS, and opens up your exotic options. Find it handles beautifully and have been ripping up the Crucible with it, but it depends on your perks.

The LMG with onslaught is dope. Often times you can quickly take out 3 redbars with tap fire and do a shit load of damate to a champion or whatever

with the summoner returning in the mid season update I'm hoping that it will also have onslaught and IF it does I will go paly trials again since last year
