Thank you for posting this and others in this series. The lighting, photography, and sound are all great. So glad these were shot on film instead of being preserved on kinescopes or videotape. The production values really do justice to all of the performers. And needless to say, Rosemary Clooney really shines here.

Brian Wilson revealed that it was Rosie's recording of "Tenderly" that taught him how to sing sweetly!

I knew Dorothy was a legendary opera singer, but she did a terrific job on Gershwin's classic "The Man I Love"!

This is a wonderful blast from the past. This legend could really really sing. I am a fan from way back and purchased her many recordings. Thank you for this brilliant glimpse at what was great.

I love it when opera singers crossover and sing Broadway.

What a talent she was! A wonderful singer, but a fantastic screen presence, too.

Rosie and Dorothy's duet was delightful! And Dorothy's rendition of the Verdi aria was masterful.

I love the way she shifts subtext on every line of lyric. And even more - every half line. So alive.

Imagine she would appear in the first special on CBS to be videotaped, The Edsel show.

I imagine you've seen the videotaped versions from Seattle KTZZ in the 1980s.. I also taped them but it's really wonderful to see an actual film with excellent sound.. as an aside, I have a complete 3-spool wire recording of 1949 Mettropolitan Opera "Faust" with "the lovely Dorothy Kirsten as Marguerite".. it's difficult to impossible for an operatic singer to pull it back and sing a popular tune.. she was quite good at it.. always looking for the best of Rosemary Clooney.. "I recorded so much crap".. put your record of "With the Night' on the turntable and stare at the speakers.......

As with the producers of I Love Lucy, this producer hated the video look and preferred,Shot on film.
