The clothing is traditional Bulgarian garmets, that everyone use to wear. There are several regions in Bulgaria, and every region has it's own style, they use different designs and embroideries, and different colors. But the colors that are universal are white, black, red, green. The rose festival happens every year, and there is also a beauty contest and folk dancing.

You are so right about the colors! Like you said, our region is always portrayed as dark and gloomy, and the association with communism doesn't help. But in reality there is beautiful colorful nature, sunny beaches, colorful traditions and folk art, flowers, etc. Some areas have that gloomy look for sure, but it's not representative of the entire country.

Yes they have a day where they dress like this an pick flowers every spring for the rose festival parade where they pick a new rose queen every year. These are traditional outfits of Bulgaria more ceremonial.

There is a Rose Festival, because Bulgaria is the main producer of the rose oil used in the parfumery in tne world.The Festival takes place in the town of Kazanlak, in the Rose Valley every spring.The clothing is traditional Bulgarian, it's not everyday clothing nowadays.And the clouds are there, just because I quess it was a cloudy day.Bulgaria is a sunny country.

You are almost right, with the small difference, the Bulgarian Khans are not turkic, turks are children of them therefore bulgarians. So you almost nailed it.

Well Bulgaria is one of the biggest producers of rose oil in the world and Bulgarian rose oil is considered to be of the highest quality. It's only natural there'd be a festival of the rose.
