Learn how to play The Rover, as performed by Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page on guitars) released as part of their 1975 Physical Graffiti album. Great rocker with two primary guitar tracks, one drenched with a generous helping of Phaser effect, the other more cleaned up to stand out as the solo guitar.
The lesson covers all the rhythm and lead guitar parts.

Another GREAT lesson. This is one of my all-time favorite Zep tunes, but I can't believe that you missed the GRONK! Generations of guitarists are going to learn it ALMOST right. During the Dmaj7 to E part, when he slides the E barre chord down, sometimes he hits the Bb (first fret of the A string) along with the open E. It's like a taste of Purple Haze. GRONK!

The phaser gives it its distinct 'signature' sound with huge dollops of Jimmy Page 1/4 bends. What a great lesson with a few things I didn't know or hear. I can tell you love your Zep - same here. Physical Graffiti is an album full of so many music styles and textures and showcased how good AND creative Page, Jones, Plant and Bonham were. Excellent work, from DownUnder.

Same here ❤️. I'm a massive Zeppelin fan. I'm aged 57, so not old enough to have known them in their heyday, but once I'd go into them aged 16, I was hooked. Started teaching myself myself guitar around the same time, had no real interest in the contemporary 80s guitar players, 60s and 70s was what I aspired to. Rock on from UK.🎸❤️

Wow ... Awesome ... I've been playing this for years but I never slid up to the G before the F#, plus several other tasty little fills and the lead F# pentatonic pattern. Thank you for showing this! Great job ... keep on rockin! Jimmy Page is part 1 of my holy trinity of hard rock guitar, part 2 and 3 are Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi. The titans of hard rock guitar! BTW Ritchie B leads are a little harder to play for me due to the more classical scales he uses. Maybe you can do a song by Deep purple ... even something basic like My Woman from Tokyo! Thanks

well i would love to, just being such a JP fan. but there is a LOT going on in that song guitar wise (as you know). That would take a lot of time to put a video lesson on that together. will be hard to prioritize that time. but I do have a lot of JP stuff I want to get to. I know it wasn't popular, but I got Outrider when it came out back in 88 and wore that CD out. Wish he had better consistent singer for that album. I love a lot of that record. I still get super hyped when I hear "Wasting My Time".

I love your tutorials and playing man! I have one mild criticism of the video. I think on this song you kind of gloss over a few of the subtle fills that take place when Jimmy transitions from riff to chords and back. That’s a lot of the coolness of the song and very much a Jimmy Page signature. Am I off base? Thanks again!

@@12footchaintotally understand. That’s the beauty of Zep songs and Page’s composition - he takes a simple but cool riff with an incredible tone - a super cool rhythm part - and then adds tons of detailed guitar layers for flavor and builds momentum to create a dramatic epic. And whether you think he’s sloppy or not (I don’t) he plays a really great, restrained melodic solo that 100% fits in the mix. Sorry to go on; I believe he’s a rock genius.
