Unbelievable timing with this business train run. Just so happened to be running from Revelstoke to Calgary the same day we planned to drive back. Hopefully y'all enjoy the chase and be on the lookout for more videos from our successful trip to Canada!

As someone who was born on the Canadian Pacific Railway in Chicago. I'm glad that the KCS fans and railroaders are being great sports about the beaver. I hope that your business train, the Southern Bell, will continue to ride the rails for years to come. Great video. Keep up the hard work. 👍

Your video is superb. As a Canadian who has been a lifelong railfan and model railroader, the CPR in the Rockies is at the top of my list to railfan or model. The merger of the CPR and KCS has created a new set of opportunities for the company. Let's hope that the employees and railfans from Mexico, the USA and Canada will embrace CPKC. The Royal Canadian Pacific is truly a magnificent experience to see. Thanks. I hope that you enjoyed your trip to Canada and will return.

Your video of Golden is not quite "in" Golden and yet is golden to me. I'm no railfan but I've never seen this phenomenon before: a freight train giving way to a passenger train. I suspect luxury train tours get priority all the time. Then I measured a bit: this section is double-tracked for at least 6km on either side of the level crossing here. The longest freights are 5km long. The RCP is maybe 200m. What am I missing?

Great vid , I did this chase in the 1990's , looks like Morant's Curve needs a bit of tree trimming !

It’s in a national park, so I imagine there are hefty fees waiting for anyone who decides to take that task. Thanks John!

Maroon, not burgandy. Only old Cadillacs are painted burgandy. The color was chosen to match the older cars' natural wood finish. This business/official train is not the same as the Royal Canadian Pacific train, on which tickets can be purchased, though some of these cars are used on the RCP.

Super sweet catch. Where did you get the name Jumping Creek for that one shot? That looks like Illecillewaet to me.
@LouisianaRailProductions
@LouisianaRailProductions 7 сағат бұрын
We got it from the road name and it’s what pops up on google maps.
@MJohnny05

@@LouisianaRailProductions I'm pretty sure that spot is Illecillewaet. I've been there before.
@LouisianaRailProductions
@LouisianaRailProductions 7 сағат бұрын
If you check Google maps and search for jumping creek, you’ll see that it’s right by Illecillewaet off of a brake check area. Seems like maps call the check area illecillewaet, while further down that gravel road is called jumping creek. Maps may be off, but as a newbie to this turf there very well could be a discrepancy on maps.
@MJohnny05
@MJohnny05 6 сағат бұрын
@@LouisianaRailProductions I understand as a newbie to the turf, you went by a road name. I'm certain this is the siding named Illecillewaet. By any chance did you use a rail traffic scanner in your chase?

The paint scheme on the locomotives is grey and maroon - not silver and burgundy.

@bobjohnson205
@bobjohnson205 7 сағат бұрын
@@LouisianaRailProductions Well, if you want to be 100% correct you should actually call it "Tuscan Red" because that was the official CPR name. So, the locos from this time were painted "Tuscan red and grey". Now you know!
