What superb views on a superb bike ! For me the Classic 350 is the best bike I have owned in 53 years of biking, brings you back to the simple pleasures of biking. No need for all the electronics that are only needed because of the alleged need of ever increasing power, that on the roads can hardly be tapped. The Classic on the other hand can just potter along all day but if you want can get a wriggle on if you so desire. 😊

Hi Peter, you are spot on. I love mine to bits. So much so I have sold my ST1100 Honda and the BMW R1150RT is going up for sale at the end of this month. The classic 350 does everything I want. I'm going camping on it tomorrow for 3 days and it loaded up with everything I need and more. Who needs a £20k GS Ride safe mate, Dave

Today I took the Classic to Monyash in the Derbyshire Peak District. A guy I know from my neighbourhood turned up on his new mega HP, mega expensive Ducati. I’m not sure why he turned down my offer to ride home together 🤨

After watching your video on the Macclefield Forest - I rode over from Lincoln on my Meteor 350 to follow your route, Brilliant, I then rode the Goyt Valley, what a great day out, Thanks Dave.
@martyntemple1487 Жыл бұрын
Ridden the Goyt valley many times including the road that was closed past the reservoir. Shame it was closed as it follows a pretty river/stream valley with a quaint arched bridge. My steed is an 03 plate 1150gs which I've had from new. Like you I now find it too big, heavy and cumbersome when most of the time on current roads you rarely exceed 60mph. Looking forward to the release of the 450 Himalayan; could be just the bike I need. Much better to slow down and take in the scenery.
@thatblokeonamotorbike Жыл бұрын
Hi Martyn, I will have to go back to the area and explore a bit more. I agree that slowing down lets you take in whats around you. I must get my finger out and put my BMW up for sale before the summer i over. Ride safe, Dave

I rode some of that in the opposite direction on Wednesday! The junction at 05:27 - I came in on the left from the Disley direction and rode past Lamaload Res', crossing over the Cat heading south onto a stretch of road you really must have a run down Dave 😉 On mainly narrow lanes it'll take you through Wildboarclough, across the A54 and on through Wincle & Dane Bridge towards Rudyard. I was taking a very scenic route from Hyde to Stafford but will be riding there again to make a loop incorporating that stretch when I get chance...can highly recommend!

Hi Phil, it's a brilliant ride. It was you who put the idea in my head when we were chatting. I'm up in Northumbria till tomorrow, been round kielder forest drive today. 12 miles of forest track road. All petrol stations on the route ( 3 of them in total ) were closed. Did 78 miles on reserve, talk about fuel anxiety
