The smile explains it all. Everyone complains about lazy throttle response and vibrations at certain rpms, but that's what makes it so special. The bike "floats" like a boat in calm river at correct gear. It demands to be ridden correctly and calmly. It makes a sweet sound and allows you to soak in the beauty of your surroundings. It's a bike like no other and puts a smile every time you ride it the way it's meant to be.

How about fuel economy compared to same cc or hp of other brands....?
@TheBikingActor3 жыл бұрын
There’s no real fuel indicator on the Classic but I can get between 150-200 miles on a tank. I generally fill it up around 150 though so never tested how much I can squeeze from it. Hey, it’s better than my mate’s Triumph Bobber that has a range of about 70 miles 🤪
@arthol512 жыл бұрын
My first tank went 400 kilometres...it took 10 litres to fill it when the light came on...thats 40kpl or 112 mpg UK or 94 mpg US. Admittedly I was pussyfooting it due to running in but I reckon 25 to 30kpl would be pretty normal for me. I will give it a good fanging once its run in and get a nore accurate picture.

These are such charming motorcycles! I practically stole my 2018 Classic (battle green) from a lad who thought it had a transmission problem. Well, the shift shaft was sliding a wee bit too far to the right through the engine cases, causing slipped shifts from not engaging the shift fork inside the right case. A simple wavy washer fixed it and it shifts beautifully now and is providing me with plenty of grins every time I ride it. It takes me back to the simpler days of my youth on mini bikes and my first 650 Yamaha...no fairing, no plastics, no luxuries, just pure motorcycling. These are becoming rare just recently as I had several Bullets/Classics in my area for sale now there are almost none. This is in the SW of USA. If anyone wants a Classic 500...get it NOW.

This is a bike from the lineup that had allowed the company to survive a better part of the century , there are many riders which kept this brand alive just for the feel of this bike, the thump, there are many who think this bike to too outdated in terms of technology and refinement compared to japanese products, RE owners are well aware of what they are buying, a RE is a companion that will take you everywhere you want to go with a smile on your face , and it's a mile muncher (not a very fast one) , it's comfortable and contrary to most bikes, this will keep growing on you the longer you keep her. Tribute edition is last of these engine style in 500 CC, good to see this one found a good home. Have subscribed and will hope the channel grows leaps and bounds. Wish you happy rides ahead and would love to follow how things develop with you and this RE going ahead.

Hi Mark. You know what, that’s not bad! I saw a brand-new one up in Norwich earlier this year and that was just shy of £8000!!! Just subscribed, thanks for your video on the Tribute. I remember your excitement when you first test rode an RE Classic! In March I managed to pick up one of the last RE Classic Chrome 500s. I absolutely love it and like you I feel so lucky. It seems that the Indian factory closed down last year for a short while due to Covid. Consequently, although they officially stopped making them in March 2020, I was lucky enough to get a later one as they finished them off later in the year. Mine was completed at the Chennai Factory in November 2020! Great video, keep smiling and keep safe. I look forward to many more videos on your classic. Thanks.

Thanks Peter. The Chrome was always my first choice, as I never dreamed I’d be able to own a Tribute. I just love it! I'm in the same boat as you - trying to choose between the Classic 500 and the Rebel 500 as my first bike after the 125. I was settling on the Rebel as the more "sensible" option, but seeing the smile on your face in this video has me swayed again. The Classic truly is the most beautiful bike I've ever laid eyes on - especially in the stealth black. Great job on the video, and best of luck with it! Looking forward to seeing how you enjoy it in future videos.
@TheBikingActor3 жыл бұрын
I feel your dilemma. The Rebel is definitely faster. The seat is also lower. I loved the Honda but the cruiser style wasn’t really what I wanted. Just so lucky to have found this gem. Let me know how you get on.

@@TheBikingActor - Thankfully I have no interest in speed - I just want to enjoy the ride and the scenery! Could I ask - have you tried the Classic at speed on a motorway yet? @TheBikingActor3 жыл бұрын
The Tribute is definitely not uncomfortable. It comes with a touring seat which is lovely and wide, cushioned and on a spring. I’m not one for motorways generally but the Rebel would handle it with ease. I’m still breaking the Classic in, so would have to let you know. Take the scenic route! 😎

@@deanwallace9238 Hi Dean and The Biking Actor, I have a Classic Stealth and have Now ridden 1300 miles on it. Could not get neutral reliably till about 850 miles, and the gears are engaging sweeter now. These bike do need " running" or "breaking" in. Took bike on the motorway, 65mph seems to be the sweet spot at the moment, otherwise the vibrations get intrusive. Also rear brake took a while for the pads to bed in and lacked "feel", but has improved now. I let my son have a good ride on it (he rides a Fazer 600) and he raved about the handling.
