The fairy tale love story you’re pushing is not true. Very soon after the wedding Grace Kelly became a virtual prisoner to Rainer’s temper, refusal of her continuing career, financial manipulation (stealing her dowry and personal earnings), and his continuing affairs. She was extremely unhappy with few personal contacts throughout the marriage, and was refused divorce. It was only the year of her death, when was finally able to break out somewhat by selling her watercolors to Wacaol who was preparing sheets with her designs - that she could finally enjoy some personal hope and freedom. This is the general outline of sad facts.

It's a shame that their son continued with the family legacy of treating one's spouse harshly. It appears as though Charlene has experienced the same thing at Albert's hand that Grace did at Rainier's. She never looks happy when she's with him, has reportedly experienced severe mental health issues, and rumor has it that she's tried to leave him but is prevented from doing so. Hopefully Charlene and Albert's children will break the curse.

Princess Stephanie was overindulged as a child and therefore a self indulgent adult, who flouted the rules and embarrassed her family, with husbands who were more interested in what she could give them. His youngest daughter embarrassed him too many times, and never learned from her mistakes. So in death the father has reined her in, she has a choice live carefully or the money will be gone before her time is over. It will be a miserable existence for her then.

Rainier lookliked a lion with the temper of a lion. He elevated Monaco to his highest potential and contributed to create this gem that Monaco is today. He has been a good leader with big ambitions & goals for his country and he made it, he paved the way for his son for him to go further. Rainier did his best with what he had. His son admitted in an interview that his father had a temper and his tantrums were explosive and scary. He claimed that he feared him even as an adult. It says a lot about Rainier.

@@hninzilwin3288 Rainier was not a particularly attractive person and he insisted on the 2million dowry from Graces family to marry her (which apparently her parents resisted initially). Monacos success (and its current status) is largely down to the connection she had made during her acting career.. it became a magnet for celebrity .. plus there were still actors that loved her and wanted to help her. and by default rainer so they were basically the walking talking advertisements. Rainier did not have that attraction or connection to celebrity.

AND what is wrong with marrying a commoner? she has worked her whole life after her schooling as a model and designer, launched her own perfume when young and owns and ran stores. And she is a tireless worker for AIDS campaigning and visits countries affected by it, she grew up under a strict catholic family and did it all in front of the paparazzi. that’s not a brat. The Royalty of England has his story told in a TV/Netflix show called The Crown. The Principality of Monaco, to this point in history, with everything that happened in the history of this dynasty, and a lot happened, a producer should find the guts to tell the story of the Grimaldi's which could be interesting. And Margot Robbie should be cast as Grace Kelly. She's a classic vintage beauty just like Grace was. I'm sure she could nail this part !

Would love to believe this fairytale but thats all it is. Prince Rainier had documented affairs through his marriage much to Princess Grace's chagrin. His predeliction for wild oats even seemed to be inherited by his son later on. Princess Grace did not appear a happy soul in the film interview she did before she died, just resigned and respecful of her role in Monaco. She did so much to improve the kingdom with her charity work but she lived in a gilded cage. Frankly i was shocked by her payment of a huge dowry to marry him😮 but of course really only her family know the truth and indeed all of her children went on to have multiple marriages or scandalous liaisons after her early demise. I would have hoped she had deserved more in her life......

On the whole your vids are interesting & fun filled, be they facts or gossip, but, apart from mentioning his youngest legitimate daughter in the title & then briefly saying she received a hugecshock getting only 1% of his total assets, which - & here anyone who isn't dyslexic like myself can correct me - but,Rainier's estate was valued at around $1.5Billion, which woukd leave her with about $15million. You glossed over pretty much everything else; it was not just Rainier who had a scandalous reputation, Kelly was well know for never spending a night alone, unless by choice. This promiscuity in both parents passed down to their children,Albert has almost enough illegitimate children for a football, team, one of the reasons that poor Princess Charlene has made multiple efforts to leave him. Caroline ,the most elegant & poised of the "children" has done exactly what she's wanted from the moment she came of age. Stephanie, who was in the car when it crashed - an horrendous experience for anyone - has had her ups & downs, including an attempt to be a Euro-pop star, joined a circus & had some very dubious relationships, both with people & illicit substances. Monaco is tiny principality with strange tax incentives, that if it was organised by someone not playing the Royal card, might well be seen as criminal. Kelly, far from living a fairy tale actually lost all but,$10,000 & & a small cottage in Ireland, where her grandmother had once lived, loosing all her savings& money from her parents & due to both her parents snobbery over Oleg Cassini - to who whom Kelly was secretly engaged - there's little doubt she'd have been happier with Cassini, not only could she have continued to act - she was an Oscar winner - but, surrounded by European decadence & Rainier's disreputable friends, she found out that he he had three mistresses. Princess Grace got on with her children, charity work & white wine. The whole thing was all about outward appearances & ultimately desperately sad for all concerned.
