If a role doesn’t specificy a specific ethnicity or culture there is no reason why someone not white cannot play the part. That being said, it’s just nice to see diversity. I never said or insinuated that people of color should take European roles. My point of view is that if the ethnicity is not important to the plot or character then why not allow someone of color to play it as opposed to a white person. And this happens many times. A character is white and that is irrelevant, the only reason I know is because the actor is white. Like if a movie like The Hate You Give gave the white characters actors that aren’t white that is when I would agree. It was essential to understand they are white per the story.

There are people who are primarily only British and have darker skin tones. If the team in charge of the movie felt like Mena made a good gift then clearly his being British in the story is not important to the plot. You’re also acting like he has an Arab accent and not an American accent. If you had a European actor do it they would also have a European accent. But the issue for you is he isn’t white? It’s up to casting to decide who can and cannot play the role and clearly Mena can. If someone fits a role and the big breaker for you is they aren’t European then I am concerned.

Just finished watching it and I looove it! Idc about the ratings - most importantly it made me happy! Was not having the best day but this movie made me smile and laugh all the way ❤ Def wanna see more of Mena in the future 😊
