In the past, trailers used to follow movies in a cinema (it would trail the movie). It was a recap of what you watched so that you could share what the movie was about with others. But I agree, nowadays as people watch it before a movie, it shouldn't include everything.

Wicked predates all of them. The prequel book came out before Harry Potter and it's based on the Wizard of Oz novel which came out before Walt Disney Pictures existed. And the stage musical debuted in 2003, before Malificent, Frozen, Oz the Great and Powerful, Wednesday etc

​@@scammaster6985to be fair, the Broadway musical is based on the books and doesn't truly do justice to the books...but the musical is absolutely one of my favorite musicals of all time. The musical is tame and not nearly as dark, sexual or deep as the book (and series in general). The musical is based on the theme of the book but definitely times a lot of story and tones it down to a family experience. I expect the movie to be similar tbh.

This is not going to be good. It's based on the musical. The musical is (hardly) inspired by the book, though not really based on it. If they were going to make something that was truly based on the book, one single movie wouldn't be enough to cover all the important details. Don't get me wrong, I liked the play. That is, until I read the book afterward. The Wicked Years is a very adult book series, and I love it. I'm listening to the audio books right now.

This is so different from the 2nd trailer, that I watched before I found this one. In this one we see Ariana Granda (as Glinda) playing a bully! The 2nd trailer showed us none of that. (It was too long ago that I saw the musical live so I really don't remember that. It was such a great musical I was totally astounded from start to finish.) Remember Newton's 3rd law of physics: Action & Reaction. For every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. If object A exerts a force on object B, object B also exerts an equal and opposite force on object A. The way you project your disdain or your harrassment on others WILL have an impact and not just on the person you are abusing. It will also turn YOUR heart BLACK and GREEN. You may seem 'pretty' on the outside but within you are withering away.
