The major reason I avoided 4k and Went 144O UW. Everyone that went 4k even on a 4090 and 5090 has to suffer with Upscaling and FG to save their performance. I won't look at 4k until there are gpu's out that can do 4k 100fps without needing those tricks so maybe another gen or two.

This is an absolutely stupid take, blame it on the game developers not in the GPU, the GPU is a monster 30% faster than a 4090 that’s already faster than anything else on the entire planet by quite a margin. Game developers are the ones that have to tweak games so that they can play in most hardware. The fact that this runs on a PS5 and struggles on a 5080 just SCREAMS shit port

I was really hoping Nixxes would do better. After playing it on launch day on the PS5, I know the performance could easily be at least ~25% better. The constant crashes, memory leaks, super high CPU utilization/requirements, and upscaling artifacts, it hurts to see. Hopefully, since it's only launch day, Nixxes will improve performance, bugs, crashes, etc., soon, since they did so well with Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered.

I think this one is more on Insomniac. It wasn't great on the PS5 and had more problems at launch than was expected. If the game code is bad before the port, there's not that much that the porting developer can do.

BTW i use my rtx 4080 for 1440P, and in every game i select medium textures instead of ultra so i don't have a problem in 1440P for at least 4 years from now on, gonna upgrade to an RTX 6090 ( Nice 😏 )

@@ek3jay828 well I don't own a top of the line gpu neither but looking at pure numbers this just looks like they put more power into the same architecture. It draws 30% more power than the 4090 and achieves around 20-30% more raster performance and sells for 20% more dollars. It is simply not an improvement at all. I'm also omitting the issue that I'm a bitter man that is mad that game devs don't optimize their games anymore and gpu manufacturers squeeze us for every penny they can. Back in 2016 I bought the GTX 1080 for $600 at 180W. Top of the line GPU. Today top of the line gpu costs $2k msrp but some go for $3k and draw 575W. I don't understand how ANYONE can say this is ok.

Pro tip: Using the Nvidia app or control panel to lock your fps results in a lower gpu power consumption than using third party software or locking it in-game. Note that I'm basing this on the power consumption shown on MSI afterburner. So someone will have to check the power drawn from the wall to ensure this is truly the case.

I don’t like the 5090, but it’s clear that it’s the fault of Insomniac. This game is horribly unoptimized as even with 4k max settings with no RT, it’s not reaching 100 fps. The original spiderman could run 4k 60 on budget graphics cards with no rt. This game is unoptimized badly and this is why i didnt buy this right away.

Dunno why but your video bitrate for this one seemed a little off was it just the video cause compared to your Cyberpunk one which was Crisp af at 4k 60fps I understand some quality is lost in videos but I dunno why this one seems less than the cyberpunk 5080 one is Spider-Man just more encoding intensive ...weird according to the stats for nerds the connection speed on the cyberpunk 5080 video was around 120,000's Kbps but spiderman 2 is sat around the 154,000's Kbps and the buffer health is higher on the cyberpunk one is there something i'm misunderstanding here is the bitrate just lower? cause i've seen some smudging and some pixelation even on the native part of the video

@@Jakiyyyyy PS5 pro has a downclocked GPU thats identical to an RX 7800 XT. The underclock probably places it between the 7700 XT and 7800 XT though. Along with the 16 of total system memory and essentially what is an R7 3700x, it doesnt perform quite like a 4070 the vast majority of the time unforunately.
