I don't think it's nerves. they are just poor and overrated/stuck in the past a bit.
@njekwaamusaa3952 жыл бұрын
@@mikeonthetube79 I partially agree. Old habits do die hard. They sometimes want to revert back to their old playing style where they get physical with forwards to wear out other teams' defences before spreading the ball out wide. However, there are days where they can be lethal and play fast-paced intelligent rugby. On these days the ball doesn't just sit mainly with their forwards close to the ruck. Check out their rugby championship game where they played against New Zealand at Mbombela Stadium on 06th August 2022 and won. Lukhanyo AM was just pure class. Lukhanyo AM is the current best outside centre in the game. They have so many players who play overseas e.g Europe, so it's only logical to presume that their playing style will change and evolve over time. Finally, I want to add that I see South Africa as an "upset" team. When a big game comes up or they are in the "mood" to play, they have a way of pulling off a huge win.

As an Irish fan I have to say this Boks team kind of reminds me of Ireland under Joe. Very pragmatic and solid defensively, but dont seem to have a lot of scores in them. They are able to beat anyone and will grind out wins in the majority of games through dogged attrition and organisation, but if they are slightly off or the opposition is very on they can be made to look quite ordinary. Not saying they're not a very good team, but they rarely look they'll blow anyone away and the game they are playing essentially requires utter perfection to win competitions as it's very difficult to win having an off day with this brand of rugby as oppose to say a pomp AB's who could snatch wins after playing awful for 70 minutes through obviously individual brilliance but more importantly the sheer ambition of their play style even when playing poorly.

Your analysis is spot on. I'm a Springbok supporter and the last two performances have been very disappointing. We are in trouble. Some players are not pitching for the game which is a problem. Rassies proxy coach Nienaber is out of his depth. He was a good defense coach but as head coach he is out of his depth. Looking at Argentinas performance over the All Blacks then I think we are in serious trouble in this series. The "game plan" is outdated and any decent coach will work out a counter. It took Foster one game to learn how to counter and I don't rate him as a good coach. The Bok players and coaches need to do some serious introspection and Rassie needs to adapt the pattern and get it through to Nienaber to get it through to the team before next weekend. A tall ask but if he doesn't get that right look forward to a record loss next week to a confident Australian team. Well played Wallabies. You deserve the win and we didn't.
@johndonson16032 жыл бұрын
Springbok tactics are straight forward, grind teams down using the biggest most powerful forwards in rugby, hope to get a little break here and there , but if its even close to parity up front , then their plan doesn't work , teams like NZ/Aus simply have a better running game, and will outscored them with tries.

A literal quote from South African analysts after the first AB win, going in for hours and days like they were now essentially the best in the world by far and unbeatable almost (a couple weeks after having lost to wales I should add too) - “we have two games to worry about in the World Cup, Ireland in the group, which will determine whether we play France or NZ in the quarters. Then if we win that quarter final we win the World Cup “

I only watched a highlights reel and from that it seems as if the Boks were never in the match. To me it seems as if the opposition teams have worked them out and the Boks coaching/management team don't have alternative game plans. Some Bok players are being shown up, not only was that the case today, but also against the AB's. And Arg is lying in waiting... Worrying times indeed. And the RWC is next year. I just hope they know what they're doing, that they're not starting to lose the plot with the world cup around the corner.

The rugby pecking order is all over the place at the moment which has made it anybody's game on any given day. I'm an ABs man and of course, it hurts that we are crashing so badly. But seeing the resurgence of France, Ireland and Argentina full of confidence and WINNING, Wales coming close to beating SA over there, even Scotland taking a game off Argentina in their backyard. England did the business against Oz and Australia look like the innovative team from a couple of decades ago. And I disagree with the comments that South Africa are one dimensional relying on their forward strengths. They craft excellent tries through their talented backs and can beat anyone on their day. There has never been this closeness amongst so many teams that I can remember. Exciting times and anybody's world cup.

1. Marika tries to rap with his left arm and his bicep actually makes contact with mapimpi’s thigh 2. White actually got hit in the head and it’s what you expect form a 9. (Faf does the same) Faf made direct head contact and was lucky to get a yellow. Koribete last year was first shoulder contact which caused the outrage.
