@@tradrodsandcustoms Yes, full respect. The 1939 'Forgotten Hot Rod' was a great rebuild to watch, as are all of the others. I just meant good to see a car that they didn't have to get huge hours into before they could start modifying it.

The "sneaker pipes" make me think way back when my uncle had his slab-sided 289 Cobra with sneaker pipes, 4 side draft Webers and a cam. He used to pile a few of us cousins into the passenger seat and go ripping down back roads! That car made a healthy intoxicating noise!

You might want to change out the SS plugs for brass plugs. SS on SS is subject to galling and can easily jam up the threads. Brass will be much more forgiving.

Matt's Muffler Shop ! "No muff too tough , we aim to please !" Lol . Sounds great , both ways . I love the inserts , keeps it simple . A few lights , brakes , & check it out on the road . That engine has a nice gallop to it . With both sides open , it should breathe just fine . Hopefully the "Stop", works as well as the "Go" . Would "juice brakes" ruin it , if it's ruined already ? I'm just glad to see it closer to that first drive slot , again . Drove it as was , after checking , then did the changing . First one I've actually seen you do , that didn't need everything else , before you did the engine . I'll be watching . The only thing I see ruined on your cars , is maybe a point of view . Sounds like a Hot Rod !

Yep juice brakes are on the series of modifications we have planned for “ruining” the car.

Experience has shown me when using S/steel threaded anything to always use a little never seize. I've lost count of the number of times when the tread catches on a burr and locks up solid. S/steel looks great and never rusts but the threads can be tricky. But ohh does the UNruined roadster sounds awesome, there's something about the flat heads and there sound that's soo pleasant to the ear..... Great job Mat, you must be EXHAUSTED after all these exhausts you've been doing lately? As an exhaust fitter I feel for you brother.....

Wow !! Sounds "Awesome" !!! Sounds like it likes the backpressure from the mufflers. Hope that stainless idea works out for you. It seems like the perfect solution but stainless is NOTORIOUS for galling the threads after it's been subjected to a few heat cycles. I worked at a biotech for 23 years. They had lots of steam driven devices such as a "pure steam generator" used for making water for injection. Once a year this equipment needed to be mostly disassembled for preventive maintenance procedures. No matter how much anti-seize they used on the stainless threads, they would "routinely" need to cut stainless pipes and other pieces, to get them apart due to thread galling. A flanged/gasketed cap would serve you much better I'm afraid !! ;o)
