My Grandmama lived in that old hotel as a teacher in the elementary school that was on the hill across the street. My Granddaddy grew up in one of the old mill houses in Pacolet Mills. We use to walk that walk as kids and play in the ampitheater

Today you helped me figure out something about my grandfather I always wonder about. He worked in a cotton mill in AL/GA and his CB handle name was linthead. I always wondered where the name came from. Thank you for sharing this video.

Nice tour. The flood must have been bad. The foundations look a lot higher than the water level. Could just be the way it looks on camera. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week

Hey there Carolina Tony-just wanted to share wit ya that from early 1995 until mid 1997 I ran the demolition crews that took down the mills that stood on that site. These were the mills built after the original ones were taken out by flooding around 1903 I believe. We also took down many other textile facilities throughout the Carolina's, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia. See Lockhart S.C. - Take it easy and glad I found this video. J.Marler Austin, Tx
