I also think by what the Ferryman means by "sinking" is to let yourself succumb to the Nowhere’s corruptive force, and start going through the process of becoming one of it's monsters. The runaway kid's dream in the threshold at the start of the Depths chapter could also be symbolic of his fear of not only drowning by literally sinking but "sinking" figuratively as in losing himself to madness that will happen to a child as they grow up in the Nowhere becoming a monster.

That’s very interesting to think about, but I don’t think that’s the case. There really isn’t any real evidence for Ethan being the Runaway Kid besides the fact that they’re both male children with some kind of connection with the Nowhere, and the shackle could be from something that happened in the Nowhere. Given that monsters capture children here, child sized shackles are probably very common. My best bet was that Ethan as a character was solely created to show that Otto was continuing to try entering the Nowhere. But hey, it’s perfectly fine if not every hypothesis is strong. We’re all just spitballing here at the end of the day! 😸

Theory time! I LOVE this theory. Hey Jord could you please look into this one? Its a lot, but I have a feeling I may be onto something. Either that or just have been wasting the last hour typing, lol. I also have come up with a bunch things that could possibly tie Otto, Mono, and the Thin Man together. Basically, I think they are all in one the same person…. Here is my evidence! 1. Their names. Otto, and Mono sound very similar. Not only that but most people are aware that Mono's name also originates from the term, Monophobia, which is the fear of being alone. Otto's name could possibly originate from the word, Autophobia, which is the fear of being alone or abandoned. Autophobia and Monophobia have the exact same meaning! Also, Otto clearly shows signs of this in the podcast in Episode 6, when he is ranting on about how Noone had abandoned him, and gets more upset at the thought that his sister Cici possibly did as well. That is a very strong connection if you ask me! 2.Six and Noone. There is another theory on the internet that Noone and Six could in fact be one and the same character, which I love the idea and believe. Lets say, if it were proven true, it could also strongly prove this theory true. We all are aware of how LN2 ended. Six and Mono were trying to escape the signal tower, and only Six made it out, because she dropped Mono when he needed her most, right?? Well, what if this could be mirroring how Noone crossed over to the Nowhere and leaving Otto behind when he tried so desperately to cross over the threashold? (idk so much about this one but, it could be something, I dunno.) 3.Otto and the Thin Man. We do actually get to hear of the Thin Mans appearance in the Sounds of Noightmares podcast when Otto uses the television to see Noone’s brainwaves. He comments about his sightings by starting by saying he saw a silhouette. Obviously the Thin Man, when a few seconds later, we hear the Thin Man's theme and it appears to have effect on Otto. Who is the only one in the LN series who has come in contact with the Thin Man like this, and has had effect on them? Mono. (And also the Viewers probably seeing that they are completely brainwashed by the signal transmission, but I think how it affected Otto and Mono is different from them. Also, one of the BIGGEST connections between them that I have found yet, is a piece of the LN official artwork. One of the artworks depicts the Thin Man sitting at a table, with a light hanging above, and a child sitting in a chair across from him. The scene almost looks as if her is interrogating the child, and asking them questions… As a therapist would… 4. Cici. There is also a theory going around that Otto’s older sister could be the original bearer of the Yellow raincoat, and could in fact be The Girl In the Yellow Raincoat we play as in Very Little Nightmares. The raincoat girl could also very well, and is in fact most likely the girl in the portrait that we see in the first game, wearing the yellow raincoat, and also in the secret portrait that we see her standing next to The Lady. The thing about her is that I think she could be Mono’s, or Otto's sister, Cici. Noone said so herself, when she saw Cici portrait, that they didn’t look too much alike, which compared to Otto, being a grown man, probably doesn’t. But looking at Mono, a possible younger version of himself, and Cici, I do see quite the resemblance between the two, and would doubt it if they were in any way related. And the final thing which I find the MOST interesting, which could confirm all of my suspicions, is inside the signal tower. In the room where we find distorted Six, where the Thin Man was keeping her, there is a portrait on the wall. And guess who?! The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat. Why else would her portrait be in the signal tower, unless she had a strong connection to it, possibly also Six, and the Thin Man, mainly the Thin Man tho. FINALLY, Look back at the Thin Man description, it says that he is "looking for something." What if what he is looking for is not Six, not Mono, but Cici...

Wait a sec. I just thought of something else. At the end of the Sounds of Nightmares Episode 6, when Otto is speaking to Ethan, he says, "I was just looking for something, but I think I have just found it." That could also be a possible reference to the Thin Man. Probably not, and just a passing comment, but at this point I think we all know that Bandai Namco are very sneaky with the little details they add in LN content, so it could be very plausible!

And then there's the "Sisi being Six" and "Otto being Thin Man/Mono" that is just incest 😭 since it is implied that Mono has a crush on Six so that is one of the things holding me back on those theories

Noone did talk about being somewhere with a girl in a raincoat. Six was with the raincoat girl in very little nightmares so it wouldn’t be too off to say Noone could be Six or at least was in the nest for some time

The signs were always there! The clocks are hung and broken in the Maw, implying that time is broken. The clocks chime very quickly but still very timed out. Perhaps the hanging man is a person like Otto who crossed over and couldn’t handle what he saw or what he became!

I love your theory videos and while watching this so amazing theory and your evidences, I was thinking of "what if the Janitor could be a distored version of Otto who managed ot get in the Nowhere but lost himself". It could explain the fact that the janitor is kind of taking care of the children inside the Maw. His longs arms represent the power or the authority because he's a psychatrist counselor in a institute and his patients who are kids listen and obey to him. And his blindness represent how obsessed he is about finding back his sister Sissi. Now I'm not as good as others theory fan like you to find evidence but it could be an interesting thought. I'm very content to watch your videos again and other theory fans like superhorrorbro. I'm also amazed that you wrote one of the podcast episode and it was very atmospheric and intense to hear. Bravo.

The janitor also works on the lowers levels of the Maw just like how the counsellor was implied to work at the basement being lower in the heriarchy The developers described the Janitor as always been blind and this also fits with Otto's character , who has always beeen blind to the Nowhere and only way to experience it is through hearing the stories of the kids. _"It feels like that, he'd (The Janitor) developed his other senses"_ _"He was born blind and he has been exploring trying to use his other senses as much as possible"_ *Otto:* _"I'll lie here, blindefolded, depriving my senses, to enter a self-induced hypnogogia, so I can focus on your words"_ The janitor observs and monitor kids sleeping despite him being blind which is pretty odd in itself. He is shown to be obssesed with a monitor/Tv and Six constantly sneaks up to him while he works at something the twitter says the following about it: "The janitor is busy and the coast is clear. What's he bulding up there? Do you even want to know?". Reminds me of Otto and the way Ethan sneaked up to him when he was too caught up "tiding up". The Janitor blindly sends kids to the meat grinder at the Maw. Just like how the counsellor will keep sending kids to the Nowhere just for the chance of experiencing it himself.
