The subtitle that mentions Cheri Currie singing backups with Joan Jett is incorrect. That's Lita Ford singing backups. Currie left the band by then. That's why Joan Jett was singing.

that is correct I was wondering cause i didn't see Cherrie but I don't think she was out of the band. I think she was temporarily unavailable cause she was busy getting her abortion at that time. Joan stepped up as lead vocalist in her absence and Cherrie got upset there was a lot going on behind the scenes at that time.

So by now your what 23? I was a little kid and wasn't into rock when I was that young. I was only 7-8 years old. The fact you became a fan so far after they became who they are, is awesome! It shows that music is timeless and can span every generation. I did like KISS as a kid, but not for the music. The fire, blood, etc. I became a fan, or learned what music affected me when I was 12-13 years old. 🎶 I got a cassette of 2 bands. Side A was Twisted Sister-Stay Hungry and Side B was Mötley Crüe-Shöut at the Devil. It wasn't until I played Side B that I really got into Metal. Mötley Crüe became my favorite band. Soon after I saw Twisted Sister at the Mecca Auditorium. They opened for Iron Maiden. Who now are my 2nd favorite band. Tied with Megadeath. The show they both did was insane! I became a Metal Head! After that concert I was so LUCKY to have been able to see Ozzy Osborne and Mötley Crüe, Dokken, Iron Maiden again, Mötley Crüe 10+more times, Ozzy again twice, Judas Priest, Metallica, Aerosmith with Guns N Roses, Scorpions, and tons more bands. Cheap Trick and Ratt was also bad ass! My point is this music is, for me anyway awesome. To hear that someone your age is jamming to music that was around before I even got into it is bad ass! Keep JAMMING! PLAY IT LOUD. Remember if it's too loud, your too old! And your hearing this from a old f**k! Well old to you.

All three have their amps dimed. That is how they always played, and they are almost drowning out their vocal mics in that small studio. That's how Joan gets that even tougher edge to her voice. Classic Runaways.

They repeat a lot of the old footage in compilation shows on the BBC four channel in case you didn't know. Look out for old stuff on hows like Guitar heros at the BBC. They made a few of them. Also some of the old Top of the pops repeats on the same channel. They manage to save a lot of whistle test footage. The BBC wiped a lot of old stuff. They didnt realise at the time vcr's would take off in the 80's.

Sadly overlooked, being an original member of the band along with Joan. Sandy also seemed to be the most reluctant in sexualizing their look, which I respected. Natural good looks that didn’t need any embellishment.

This was their opening song when I saw them open for the Ramones in January of '78. Backstage, after the show, Sandy grabbed me by the front of my shirt and gave me a deep kiss. Seeing this, Joan grabbed the girl I met in line outside before the concert and was hanging out with and gave her quite the passionate kiss, also. Over forty years later, I'm still with that girl.

Who the hell remembers the opening song of the warm up band 40 years later? I've seen so many concerts of bands I absolutely idolize. And i couldn't remember not 1 opening song from any of them. Of course we are talking bands from back in the 80,s. Like Priest, Maiden, Metallica, G&R, Scorpions etc. And honestly I don't remember the first songs. And these were the main attractions. I can't even tell you who the warm up was!

I'm the same age as Joan Jett, I started a band in 75 with four other guys which included my best friend Bobby by 1980 we had just him and me and I quit and joined the army. We went through 4 drummers, 5 guitar players, 1 singer, 2 keyboardist and 2 managers. Our biggest mistake was I could not talk them into leaving Missouri to go to either coast to play.
