How to defy Marx and bring socialism to the Russian Empire? In this video, we explore how Lenin planned to build a Bolshevik movement that could overcome not just the Czar, but also traditional notions of how social movements were to be conducted. Lenin's ideas on manipulation, organization and ideology would not only serve him well during the actual Revolution, but also made him a pioneer of strategy in the industrial age.

What you described in this video is mostly Metapolitics - strategies of Cultural Hegemony, that would be properly formulated some time later by Antonio Gramsci (Italian communist). His tactics can be applied to any ideology, even completely separate from communism

I think you're correct to an extent - but it is also important to ask why, in the circumstances of WWI, that it was Lenin who succeeded and not the Mensheviks etc. Truth is that Lenin's strategy put the Bolsheviks in the best position to exploit this sort of 'Window of Opportunity', whether WWI or some other anti-establishment event.

​@@StrategyStuff Well, yeah There's no denying Lenin's success, and you don't reach that level of success without doing some things right. His analysis is quite interesting (learned a lot about it, btw, thanks) and they were ready to strike and just better than everyone else at that point. I was just wondering how much you can really take away from it all. I guess thise old roman adage will always hold true : Fortune favors the Bold.
