Hello JP - just to let you know I've nominated your You Tube broadcasts for a Ceasar award. Thanks very much for all the videos this year - you have inspired me to start painting a Prussian brigade, having said for 30 years I would never do Prussians (not enough colour)

Thanks Gary, that’s good to hear, much appreciated re the nomination. On the Prussians that’s brilliant news 😀😀 there is a sea of dark blue out there, but i’ve found if i hunt around there’s much more variety than I expected. Good luck. Cheers JP

Indeed, I’m using foundry paints and so far so good lots less than a third of a pot so far for the 9 battalions, the time consuming work is actually the white trousers and all the webbing……about 2/3 of a pot so far so still pretty good coverage….so may need some more of that 😀😀😉

Great progress. I like these vids because they put something like a Russian army within grasp of the average gamer, otherwise I think it would be easy for one not to get the project started out of a sense of being overwhelmed from the start. I could stop roughly where you are, because of the size of my table, perhaps have two infantry unit less and have the cavalry element instead. Anyway, a very strong position to be going into the New Year with. I was given an Army painter Stay wet Palette for Christmas, so I am hoping that idea of always having paints actually out will increase my output next year, by being more likely to use those spare 20 minute chunks here and there.

Thanks Norm, I agree it’s not too hard once you put your mind to it but it can be very daunting but you do need to enjoy repetition ! for me it’s a good way to unwind, and I don’t usually do more than an hour or so in the evening after work, and it was nice to find the Russians were actually pretty straightforward to paint, dark green uniforms over a black undercoat is very forgiving 😀😀😀👍😀

Thanks Dom, all progressing well although plastic bayonets are very frustratingly snapable 😮😮 but far quicker to paint than the metals so probably worth it…..still sticking to metals for my Prussians I think. 😀😀

I agree a second pack would have been helpful and not having all the senior generals in one large pack too…I only want a couple for my C in C stand, but that will be the route I go I expect and I’ll repurpose a some as extra brigade level command figures, I have been also looking at foundry for more Perry Russian sculpts but they were out of stock….I’m sure I’ll find some in due course, …….but plenty to paint in the meantime, thanks for watching, cheers JP

And surprisingly easy to paint especially dark green on black undercoat, hides a multitude of sins and allows a lot less precision in the main uniform, and I agree the flags are stunning and going for 1813 I can justify single battalion regiments…..so more flag variety…😀😀😀, thanks for watching, cheers JP

@@JP-ml4zh Still a problem, the beginning music is at full volume, then as soon as you start talking, its as if you muted it down somehow. I have turned my speakers full volume, and the slide on utube, and i can just about hear you. I have no problems with anything else on utube ;)

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll take another look tomorrow, always worth hearing of problems, I know the Quatre bras one had some quiet sections at the start as I was just using the phone rather than the mic. for the first part when we had a bunch of players at the table, but the Russian painting update was all mic’d as usual so should be ok. Thanks again.
