Russians are using the same strategy that they've used against Germans in WW2: Make a large front, extend it as much as possible, then attack constantly, everywhere. Enemy has to shuffle forces from one part to the other until it doesn't have any force to shuffle. Then line brakes, Russians pour in and advance as much as possible on both sides, making a cauldron, then they kill everything that doesn't escape the cauldron and rinse-and-repeat. This is what happens when you study your history and learn from it, instead of re-writing it to have more women, blacks and gays in it. You destroy your enemy, drive it before you and hear the lamentations of their women.
