I had this LP in 1970 when I was 14 years old. My mom bought for me Christmas of that year at J. C. Penny's.

Pretty tame this ..compared to the other Rutle’s songs. But I’ll forgive them. Neil (Nasty) Innes was a genius .

Rather weak songwriting on this medley compared to other Rutles material, but in a way that's actually quite fitting as a parody of the Beatles medley, which was also quite incoherent and not very melodically convincing. Another thing that fits quite well is the many weird sounds and outbursts of a band during breakup. Lots of individual "solo trips" that don't really contribute much to the wholeness. Just a lot of clunky-clanky mess and outbursts, so as a parody on the Beatles medley it's quite spot on.

That's because it isn't the Rutles. It's Ricky Fataar's band, The Flame.
