i know how you feel about the way dinghies have gone.I sail a Hartley TS16 "dinghy" with a lid.It was the forerunner to all the trailer sailers today. At boat shows,we get a lot of people come up to tell us about when they sailed a ts16.Designed in the late 50's thousands built in aust/NZ through out the 60's 70's.Love your videos.Gives me a lot of inspiration.Cheers

The racing really dominates the dinghy classes. It reminds me of the motorcycle market. You learn to ride to travel to work and arrive at the showroom to find nothing but sports bikes. We loved our old Heron. Not quite big enough to cruise in though.

Hi Roger, We always thoroughly enjoy your videos. What a great boat show! Here in Australia most of our boat shows are over-run with powerboats. The sailing section, if there is one, tends to be filled with truly superb keelers & cruising cats worth about the same as a decent house AND an investment property combined. Alternatively there are the latest racing dinghies & cats, frequently full of carbon-fibre construction and hydrofoils, often in the $40,000 mark or more. It is refreshing to see there are _still_ cruising people out there in small boats with realistic budgets. Shame the Wayfarer has gone down the go-fast path . . . Cheers, Gavin & Amanda

going though your back dated vids. really enjoying your posts. You Narration gives me the same feeling that John Peel did. Relaxing informative and without the woffle!

Hi Roger, Always great to see your videos and get inspiration. Would you mind telling us more about the GPS Chartplotter you use? Many of these seem totally unsuited to dinghy applications. Cheers, JM

I’ve always wanted a mark 1 Cornish crab and I think that’s pronounced correctly but anyway that’s so lovely and have such an old-fashioned find them.

Hello Roger, I was wondering, what kind of model/type is your dinghy? Greetings from the Netherlands.

Will the Dinghy Cruising Association be at the 2017 Dinghy Show? I am becoming more and more interested in cruising (and less interested in high performance boats) and am undecided about coming to the next dinghy show. If DCA is there I am much more likely to attend. Andrew
