Ever wondered about the magic woven within the sacred feminine?
This week on Plenty, I deep dive into the essence of the sacred feminine with an amazing ordained priestess named Sarah Jenks.
Sarah's story is a tapestry of wisdom and transformation, echoing the whispers of ancient times where women held pivotal roles in shaping societies. As we explore the cyclical nature of women, drawing parallels to the luteal phase and the thinning veils of sacred moments, we are invited to embark on a journey of inner growth and spiritual connection through Sarah's transformative spaces at Holy Woman.
Join us in embracing the sacred feminine, exploring the power of ceremony, and connecting with a vibrant community across lifetimes. It's time to dive deep, remember our essence, and walk the path of empowerment and self-discovery together with Sarah Jenks.
"It's so normal to feel nervous about it. It's so normal to feel weird to make money. It's so normal for it to feel scary to own this part of our lives, but it is here for us to own this and to transform it and to not forget how it was violently taken away from us." - Sarah Jenks
We would like to make a few historical corrections, below are the corrections to Sarah’s original message.
Jesus was killed by the Romans, not the Ottomans. The Ottoman Empire was not established until 1299, 1269 years after Jesus' demise.
The New Testament is thought to have been written in years 100-200. This all took place more than 1000 years before the Ottoman empire was even founded.
Constantine (280-337) was the emperor of the Byzantine Empire (330-1453), not the Ottoman Empire (1299-1922). Fun fact, the capital of both of these empires was Constantinople (conquered by the Ottomans from the Byzantines in 1453), today's Istanbul.
As such, the Ottoman Empire had nothing to do with the killing of Jesus, hijacking the Bible nor the establishment of the patriarchy as alluded to in the podcast.

It’s also not taught that in Hebraic languages the Holy Spirit is a female neutered word. You can have a Father and a Son without a woman…Holy Spirit is the “healer, the nurturer, the counselor, the one who “comes along side, the one takes what is the father’s and gives it to the son”….i think that’s so bad ass, but just awful it’s been so completely left out. Such a complete cognitive distortion when you think about how often the father and son are emphasized without anyone asking how the “Son” came to be…

Interesting to feel a vague remembering myself from the Priestess gatherings but for me it was not quite the golden experience you gals seemed to have. It was the sense of being excluded and demeaned by the Head Priestess. It's made me realise that although you were talking about women being the holders of power, there was an underlying unspoken assumption that it was better than with men. But I think women just as much as men have misused power in roles in ancient and modern times - feeling threatened, competitive, jealous, greedy and possessive, even as mothers. These times I believe offer us the opportunity to see the shadow of the misuse of power by women as well as men because the rise of patriarchy was likely in part a reaction to misuses of power. The certification or otherwise of spiritual leaders such as priestesses through human hands seems just as much subject to the normal foibles of the behaviour of human beings as everything else. There has been so much abuse of these roles in traditional religions and power over traumatised people, that I am wary of any hierarchical position spiritually. Interestingly a couple of times in the interview there was a talking over each other that I haven't experienced before in your other interviews Kate. It's maybe an example of a kind of power dynamics at play. An apprenticeship through Life however such as your own, Kate through navigating Mike's illness and your business and children, teaches each of us all we really need about accessing our own Truth and therefore power. Not outsourcing that to someone else and then manifesting that Truth authentically through how we live and interact with each other as equal human beings. A horizontal model where people are listening to the truth of themselves and an interrelationship with each other and with the environment as equals worthy of mutual respect.

Hello, I love the subject, so much resonates but I find it a pity that you mix up historical facts and there are quite a few inaccuracies and amalgams which is a shame because that is the water on the mill to anyone who would want to discredit you and the topic (like jesus and the otoman empire?! Burning witches back in ancient greece? etc) To me, the sacred feminine, the ancient mysteries are such an important part of my life but I am very careful about the data I share when talking about it. I also wanted to thank you for brining these conversations to a wider public and wanted to share the beautiful experience when you were talking about the temple of Isis - goosebumos and shivers all over the body, and tears. The body remembers. Thank you❤
