Fr Chris makes this process quite easy through his step-by-step First Friday Devotional Prayer Services which are live-streamed here on this KZbin channel at 8 PM Eastern every First Friday. Thank you Father Chris and the Visitation Sisters for your insights. The Sacred Heart of Jesus has always been near and dear to my heart as a young child. I had a 8x10 picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus that my grandmother had given to me when I was about 9 years old that sat in the crevice of my bedroom mirror. I moved when I was a young adult and it was packed safely and put into storage. Sadly, things happened, and I never got it back. Still today, I keep Him close to my heart and have a strong devotion and love to Him. Thank you for your teachings today. I used to comment on your lively presentation, Living Divine Mercy, but this time, I want to share my own experience about Jesus Heart I wrote in my diary. For many years, I struggled to know, love and obey Jesus. I sought Him in every good means: The Bible, Sacraments, Rosary, Meditation and Contemplation, Reading the Lives of the Saints, imitating His life and ways through the book Imitation of Christ and in the service of mankind. When I realised that I found Him, He was all along inside my heart. The dark night of the spirit prevented me from recognising Him for a long time. Now is His Divine Heart my home and resting place. Now is my reward so great! Thank you, Jesus, for loving me. Thank you, Fr. Chris, for doing everything that the Sacred Heart of Jesus, His love and mercy be made known to us and to the whole world.

Thank you Fr Chris. You explain really well. You are very anointed. The steadfast love of the lord never ceases and his mercies never come to an end. Don’t abandon God even in your darkest moment. I’m glad I turned to Jesus for help during my dark time and saved myself from doing the wrong things to mask my grief. I have been doing first Fridays and Saturdays for a while. I did the 9 days novena to the sacred heart of Jesus and it feels so good. What the sisters said is so true. Just listen to what the lord tells you. We used to attend Mass frequently at Visitation Convent in Toledo. We became members of the Guard of Honor back in the 80's. I chose 3:00-4:00 since that was when I got out of school and took the bus home. I didn't know there were other Visitation Monasteries!

In 2008 the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart fell on May 30 and in 2011 it was on July 1, as it also will be in 2095. It will be on July 2 in 2038. These are the only times this century that it fell/will fall outside of June.

I'm very guilty of jansenism. Not voluntarily, I don't think. But that is kind of my default view/sentiment/expectation of God. I started reading Saint Faustina's Diary and one quote kind of disturbs me, though not as much it would have in the past, that at the end of life we'll have to account for everything! So yes, it does feel like a pressure to be perfect at all times because even the slightest mistakes and fault causes Him grief. And I'm not moved so much by love for God but fear of God, that He'll punish me and take away whatever He's ever given me. And still I'm aware that it makes me sound like Luther, so I don't want to be deceived by protestantism either. I do want to know God's Mercy and Love because it's foreign to me at times. Most times. I don't seem to get it emotionally or spiritually.
