I have SI pain , i tried cortistiroid injection but didnt work , may i repeat it or whats ur recomendation cz the pain really is unaffordable !

I cannot comment on specific cases, but for patients who get a positive temporary response the SI joint fusion may be an option. We have a video on that

Can the patient return to the regular exercise routine 3 days after the injection, or is a longer wait recommended?
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
I recommend patients can return to normal activity in 48hrs. I am ok with exercise as long as they use common sense and ease up if feeling pain. Could take 7-10 days for full effect

Who do you go to for pira formus pain and works on adhesions
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
On exam you can differentiate a piriformis pain from SI joint. Piriformis is similar but usually more tender over the the muscle. It is possible to do a piriformis injection first and then if no relief go to an x ray guided SI joint injection

Is the "therapeutic" injection the same as the "diagnostic" injection?
@DrEdwardSRubin4 ай бұрын
Therapeutic usually involves steroid and diagnostic is just local anesthetic. A diagnostic will only last a couple hours
@JardineFlower4 ай бұрын
@@DrEdwardSRubin the diagnostic lasted 3 months. 2nd injection was therapeutic and lasted a few weeks 😔

Will this help for long-term pain relief?
@DrEdwardSRubin4 ай бұрын
3-6 months usually. Fusion is the best long term fix.

So I have been doing CrossFit for 10 years. I started having hip pain and then it went away. It came back along with back pain while standing for long periods. When I would sit down I would get jolting buttocks spasms. I also get pins and needles type feelings. Would a streiod injection help me?
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
I recommend seeing a pain specialist. I cannot comment on specific medical situations in this context

How long does it take for the procedure?
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
Couple min. This is a quick procedure. Should be done with image guidance - X-ray or ultrasound

Can you be sedated
@DrEdwardSRubin Жыл бұрын
About 1/2 my patients request sedation, but can be done awake. Takes 1-2 minutes
@vailsage015 ай бұрын
@@DrEdwardSRubin My xrays show "moderate left and right sacroiliac osteoarthritis, moderate bilateral hip osteoarthritis and mild degenerative disc disease of the visualized lumbar spine" (whatever that means). The PA recommends guided steroid injections into both hip joints in one office appointment (but not sacroiliac?). The ortho hip docs here won't do any sort of sedation for the procedure, not even a pre-procedure oral like a single flexiril beforehand. Quote "you don't need it, it's only a little uncomfortable, then it's over". Not true. It's insanely excruciating, I know. I've had guided intra-glenohumoral shots 2 x years ago for a torn up shoulder (ultimately requiring shoulder a 4 hour surgery). I'm not a wimp, I know pain. I've had a c-section epidural that wore off DURING the procedure; I felt my legs moving and my organs shifted to be sewn back up (fyi, the doc re-anesthetized). Any theories on my the docs won't use any sedative, but may only use a shallow (if that) surface anesthetic (which doesn't help)? Honestly, I'd rather just live in daily pain than do this without some sedative.

Not needed. Very quick. Pressure not pain and then it's over.
