As a PTA who has struggled with SIJ dysfunction and chronic pain since my pregnancy, and I'm a very active person, there is truly such a thing as an upslip, outflare, hyper and hypomobility, etc. I had issues with my L SIJ, and MRI showed progressive arthritis over several years, and I had that side fused and had instant relief of that pain with sitting. Now I believe my R SIJ was the hypomobile side, and I have learned how to "unstick" this side when I sit for any period, and it gets upslipped and stuck that way. It will pop, and I can feel it move back into neutral. This takes several minutes and a specific position in opposite sidelying with my foot trapped under a surface, leaning into lateral flexion over a stool or my hyperextension bench. I discovered this trick by accident trying to stretch out the painful area, and this hurts to perform but gives me sustained relief until I sit down again for more than 10 mins. The R SIJ was also fused using NuTech dowel type allograft, but this was not enough stabilization, and the fusion did not take. Anyway, SIJ dysfunction is very much real and it absolutely can get stuck in upslip as well. Everyone should check out Ryan Whelton's paper on SIJ dysfunction and protocol for more information. I came here looking for which ligaments resist upslip on the innominates on the sacrum, but I'm still unclear due to the various orientations of the fibers, and it wasn't specified. Any help is much appreciated!!

I am 34 and have been going through this issue the past four years. I have mild EDS so my tissues, ligaments and joints are always not normal 🤷🏼♀️

absolutely brilliant and mind-blowing jobs in creating both the SI videos. Went through both and am now thorough with the concept within 30 min. Very well done. Please keep up the good work and keep coming up with more videos.👍 atb for future videos.

Some chiropractors are still talking about the SI joint to get "stuck". It doesn't make sense.

the interlocking mechanism doesn't fall under the form closure since by definition form closure is related to predetermined/genetically structures like bones and ligaments?
