the thing is pharrell didn't care about it either, he didn't even want to sing on the records until jay z took his vocal demo and said "nope. we're keeping your vocals on" and that led him to becoming the face

@@ScottThePiscesnot true. He sang on Super thug in 98 and both The Neptunes were in the video. He also sang on Shake Ya ass for Mystikal. Jay had nothing to do with Pharrell becoming a star. Pharrell looked cool as hell in the videos and it helped the Neptunes image immensely. Jay hopped on for Just Wanna Love You when the Neptunes were already hot. It wasnt Jay’s idea to have Pharrell sing on songs lol.

Chad is fine 😂. People forget that Chad purposely avoids interviews fame and even tour dates. Simply cause he enjoys being able to make music and still spend time with his family. Shay is the same he doesn't care about the game that comes with being in the spotlight. In away Pharrell saved them from a industry that is notorious for destroying their artist. Not to mention he looks out so much for Chad that he gets paid for all NERD. Gigs whether he shows up or not. That's unheard of but shows the real life friendship these three have. Pharrell is allowed to do Pharrell. And his friends are more then okay to get they check and go home 😂

um, Neptunes weren't a thing in 1992. Pharrell wrote Teddy Riley's verse for Rump Shaker but The Neptunes were never involved in anything regarding Wreckx n Effects production - that's all Teddy Riley. Pharrell told that straight during Drink Champs appearance. After that they went through Bad Boy sweatshop and really emerged in the scene in 1998-99 with productions for Noreaga, Mase and ODB and that's when Kelis debuted whose first two albums were more or less a Neptunes showcase and only after that they got their footing in pop and the rest is well known.

Pharrell WAS shy about providing vocals, he would do references hoping other artists would be on the finished product such as wanting The Temptations on Shake Ya Ass by Mystikal but the labels liked how he sounded on them so they just kept him and thats how he became the go to guy for hooks during the early 00s. One more thing, that is absolutely the correct cover for N*E*R*D's Nothing album and not The Neptunes produced NORE single of the same name. Wikipedia isn't the only source of information. 🖖

True. Pharrell never felt he could actually sing. Although, I read somewhere that his singing on tracks came about ashe felt it was quicker and cheaper to just do it himself, as opposed to waiting for the artists to be available and pat them with money he didn't have at the time.

Inside sources says, the neptunes as a production duo split over publishing percentages. Things start getting a little uneven between the two. Depending on the work put into the production and writing credits. Pharrell got bigger chunks due to his input. And the agreement was 50/50 no matter what, from the beginning. But things changed. That’s from two sources. It was said that Chad really didn’t see an issue with that. There was no hard feelings between the two. Because of technology changes and production equipment being more mobile and personal, plus downsizes. It caused them to eventually work on music totally separate. Pharrell just took more opportunities than Chad in the long run, plus hustled a little more and got more placements. But is there a bad bone between the two? Not til this day.

Fact check - "Nothin" is a single produced by the Neptunes for the artist N.O.R.E aka Noreaga....it is not a N.E.R.D album....

“The Evolution of Robin Thicke” album is SUCH a great production. Not only does Robin sound great on it (this is like 10yrs before Blurred Lines BTW) but every single track is its own little vibe. He covers multiple genres and song types in one album without it being completely overwhelming

They use live instrumentation on top of those classic synths and 808's they use. A lot of producers need to learn from that...and also have great songwriting ability. A gift from God they have.

The Neptunes had a great run during the 2000s era, but they have worked with a number of countless artists including Ludacris, Mariah Carey, Nelly, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Busta Rhymes, T.I., Common, Talib Kweli, Guru of Gang Starr, Macy Gray, Charlie Wilson, Big Boi, Sleepy Brown, Mystikal, 504 Boyz, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Philly’s Most Wanted, Foxy Brown, Jadakiss, Fabolous, Mase, Puff Daddy, Monica, Moneybagg Yo, and many others. Pharrell’s In My Mind album had bangers, but the album sucked. I had the pleasure of watching them performed live as N.E.R.D./Common toured together.
