Jerry Reed is a LEGEND! In my book. One of the most entertaining people on earth period! On stage, on film, on tv. A Guitar God! and at the same time an every man. I’m not even in Country music, but Jerry Reed transcends all lines.

Back in the late late 70s there was a very private horse ranch in Tennessee. Gerry Reed had a vehicle break down and he went to the ranch to call somebody to come fetch him. Gerry asked to see the horses. Apparently they didn't recognize him because he was told he couldn't afford to even look at the horses. A couple days later he bought that ranch and fired the uppity staff and hired new.

Jerry Reed wasn't just an UNBELIEVABLE Guitarist( he and Eddie Van Halen are THE BEST Country & Rock players respectively EVER, IMO)but he was a a Great Person and Family man, AND a U. S. Veteran. He's the stuff a Hero and Role model is DEFINITELY made of. GOD BLESS him and I'm very Thankful I got to be around to see him. My Sympathies and Condolences go out to his daughter's. Rest In Peace to Mr. Reed and his beloved wife.

Love his music, play it all the time when I'm driving. Quitting smoking can be a cast iron biatch. Took me 3 tries, the first failed the night my mom died. The second time? Stress. The third time was 1984. If you smoke, try man, it can be done.

As a kid my dad played a lot of Jerry's music. My father taught me two chords on the guitar and I took off on my own being self taught as well. Along with the influence of artists like Chet Atkins, and Roy Clark I started to fall into a groove with classic rock and a hodge podge of other genres and styles. Jerry's music really helped form me as a guitarist. His song She got the Gold Mine hit home for me after my divorce lol

The fact that Jerry and his sister was in and out of foster care and orphanages due to the Great Depression would definitely be a truama. People did not speak of such things back then. But I am over 90% positive that they were s*xually abused during that time. The abuse of foster children was common. Unfortunately, it still is to an extent.
