Here is the easiest way i can possibly put the issues of ow2: 5v5 vs 6v6: If monke build store to sell 6 banana, crate hold 6 banana perfect. monke decide to sell 5 banana instead, crate built to hold 6 banana will make 5 banana into mashed bananas. The tank issue: If monke build house with 1 support beam and throw rocks at house, house will easily fall. If monke decide to add second support beam house more stable, but with enough rocks and good accuracy house will still fall.

It "only" took them 3 years, multiple lawsuits, a promotional anime, and a whole DLC to "fix" it LOL. The problem with modern games is that they're too accessible. They're dumping down the skill level for new players, which isn't the problem. The game is already easy, now they make characters that take no skill, and can do things at low risk. Its too easy for anybody to play, then now you have people trying to defend the developers as if they know what they're talking about. Don't get me wrong, games back in the day had their flaws as well, but the difference is these games people can get away with stuff they don't deserve to get away with. Compare low risk to high risk, i guarantee you high risk is better because it forces you to think. I'm not saying that games have to be super hard to play, but make characters take more skill and make them more punishable.

Games being bad on release is a major problem with AAA games. Idk about indie. Fomo is a problem for some games or for some gamers thoughts. GB size of some games is ridiculous. (Looking at you MK1) Console storage sucks so bad imo (I can't speak for PS on that one) A part of me wants Online Multiplayer to die off for a few years specifically FPS games and I like R6 & Overwatch a lot. It's hard to explain.

Modern gaming is still alive and well. Last year was one of the best years in gaming history. It’s just online competitive games that are cash cows for greedy corporations. No Man’s Sky is widely considered to be a great comeback story and a great game. CP2077 has been fixed for two years now and is one of the best games I’ve played in recent memory.

It's alive and well if your standards are low. If you subtract the Japanese market, western AAA games are in a terrible state and no this isn't limited to multiplayer games. Also, it's great Cyberpunk was "fixed" but it shouldn't have launched that way to begin with. And no the answer isn't play indie or old games. I think sony is doing well but you can really see the potential for turning the wrong way. The cinematic games are great, i have played through them and platinumed them, but you cant *only* have these styles of games because that splits the market. Good replayable, competitive online gaming doesnt exist without the nastiness of greed. Casual gaming doesn't exist anymore because every game has some level of sbmm. Nintendo has a lot of problems. They feed off nostalgia. Their console is so limited because it has to be mobile for some reason. One of their biggest teams in gamefreak doesnt seem to get much help from them. I dont own an xbox so i cant speak to them but they seem to be thriving off of nostalgia for as long as they can as well.

Gaming is not dead you guys are just unable to branch and be open about what you’re willing to try. I never liked farming games, tried Stardew Valley and its literally my top 5 games ever. Never in a million years would i think i would enjoy it but I love gaming for the GAMES, I am willing to try anything and everything and I never get bored of new games that come out. Has online gaming and competitive gaming gotten worse..? Yes, but please stop conflating that with ALL of gaming. Imo rpgs have been more fun than they have EVER been. Smt 5 vengeance has been incredible, BG3 was astounding. I like Elden Ring but I also love Zelda TOTK, both open world games that feel drastically different but give so much content for NO extra price. The dlc for ER is dlc thats worth the money. But even without it ER is a game you can legit put 100+ hours into. Not every game needs to have 100s of hours put into it, like I have done for Overwatch. Maybe cuz Im not a competitive gamer that I feel this way but I really dont think games have been worse. Work environments, scheduling, and other stuff when it comes to developing is worse 100%. But then you have people demonizing Nintendo when theyre the only company that openly treats their workers like humans and NEVER do crunch due to their philosophy of believing it makes their games worse if done. Not that they’re a perfect company but its shit like that when people still support blizzard despite their criticisms of the company that make no sense to me. I also dont care about difficulty, games can be easy or challenging but as long as its fun, I DONT CARE. People conflate easy with “unfun” but its not a games fault if you’re a masochist

For me, it was 2016 and I had my XBOX 360 that was banned from online (purchased used from Gamestop) and the campus library had a copy of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. I played 3 minutes of the tutorial level only to be met with a glitch that didn't allow me to progress. I knew at that moment that there was a Day 1 patch that was needed in order to mitigate this, but I couldn't connect online. At the time, the 'Day 1 patch' was standard across the AAA industry and if you didn't have access to the net right then n there, you could not play the game. To this day, you morons (you know who you are) continue to purchase and pre-order games that promise the world only to deliver not even a fraction of it. Gaming's been dead, but at least emulation still works. SSX 3, Burnout Revenge/Hot Pursuit are great titles.
