I find it depressing our government is so stubborn about scrapping perfectly functional buses. I remember when Service 23 Volvo Olympians arrived at the bus stops downstairs, I could hear their roar from 23 stories away in my HDB. Living in the Indian village, buses were and are a vital part of how residents get around and get supplies from the rest of Singapore. It was particularly important for me as they were the only interesting thing I really had in my village. I live in a crossroad of buses, from SBS Transit like 23 and 65 to SMRT like 67 and 960. Everyday was bus heaven! Volvo Olympians, Leyland Olympians, Volvo B10Ms, Dennis Lances, Scania L113CRL, Mercedes Benz O405s and O405Gs and more came to the village in all directions. These buses took me to so many places here in Singapore and I cherish and dearly miss these good old friends of mine.

Having that absurd rule that once a bus reaches 17 years of lifespan is completely unnecessary. Old bus does not lead to dangerous bus but it leads to memories. Have LTA not think about keeping Singapore's history? Buses always play a part in the country by serving the people and having to see old buses be scrapped, a lot of people will be upset to see their childhood bus be gone. I remember the times when I always take 960, 963, 171, 75 etc it will always be a 0405 CAC. The old Woodlands Interchange was like the home of old SMRT buses. Everywhere you turn and see is 0405 CAC's or Mk2 or I don't know. I didn't really took any old SBS Transit buses often because I live in Bukit Panjang and the place is mainly SMRT. I did remember taking a B10M, couldn't remember what model it was either a DM3500 or Strider, and I actually enjoyed it. To hear LTA saying by 2020, all non-wheelchair accessible buses will be scrapped is really upsetting. We will no longer hear the 0405G Habit roaring through the roads of Singapore, no more VSO... It is really upsetting. Let us all have a moment of silence of silence as these buses are now history...

Loved this video. Also about the portion u mention about security. Yes I agree at least one of us had a mishap with cisco or aetos stopping you and forcing you to delete your photos, sometimes in other circumstances they "invited" you over to their office and ask for your sd card and tell you that you need to delete all the photos you taken in the interchange. One of my HK friend had this experience few years ago while he was trying his best to ride the bendybuses at Woodlands. Ever since his encounter, his next few and future visits he decided to take photos on the roads on save pavement areas and a lowkey eye-spotting of the model his wanting to see. Some of the experiences I encountered back then were very traumatising and one of them forced me to leave the bus community. Also to sum up the current community, I noticed those people whom started the hobby during the same period as I am, about 75-80% of them had moved on to various hobbies or with their daily life. Although speaking as a person here who no longer chases "cameos" like every die hard bus fans from start, I still care about talking about those old buses that are already retired and shared stories of those memorable moments with colleagues and close peers. Had since moved on away from the bus community and even though I had no interest to chase anymore new or older buses in time to come, I still had one unfulfilled dream to be the owner/boss of one private bus company. It was nice speaking my opinions out here to you. See you soon Maxson. Have a good year ahead

Maaan! Thanks for having the courage of speaking up! Not easy in S'pore! Next time I come to S'pore (after this coronanightmare ends), I'd gladly meet you! I lived in S'pore between 1994 and 1996, and I still remember basically all kinds of buses running around the country. When I came in 2019, the only one I managed to see the red Leyland Olympian close to Orchard Rd :( It was so heartbraking for a nostalgic like me to see only modern buses. Quest for modernization? Hmmm... Comparing Warsaw and Singapore in 1994-96 to nowadays, Warsaw made a huge step forward and all buses running are modern buses, a lot of which are Polish-made Solaris (a brand that did not exist back then. One of those, the Solaris Electric, was elected "bus of the year 2017"! Why didn't Singapore even purchase one? Even Dubai does!) However, Warsaw still keeps some old buses and trams (sometimes even from the 30s, before Warsaw was entirely destroyed in WW2!) for exceptional occasions! Singapore makes a huge mistake (and absolutely non-ecological) in not allowing those buses to be at least exported instead of being scrapped.

Thank you for the kind words! Indeed, the singapore authorities hate it when people speak poorly of them, especially when it's true! They usually would focus on silencing rather than getting to the root of the problem and solving it. Sorry to hear that you didn't get to see any of the older buses in 2019. As for the Solaris, I'm not sure if they make them in right hand drive. You're always welcome to visit once leisure travel is permitted!

Where I live over a span of only 15 years, TransJakarta have a really diverse fleet of buses often lasting less than a decade due to crap maintenance or problems with their contracts, often the buses are left to rot at empty fields or even bus terminals And "old" BRT buses here often retire without fanfare although the Busway Fanclub managed to organize small farewells for certain buses like the last Silver Hino buses and the Inobus bendy bus, all which happened 2 years ago Imo, one of the things that saddened me is the sudden retirement of the BRT's pioneering fleet from 2004 in December 2018, those are the buses I always remember from my childhood, they used to roam on Line 1 until 2012, and then relegated to Night owl services from 2014 until it's retirement and now they are rotting away somewhere with no plans for preservation

i know right? those seats were more confortable in the past and i think were more darker at night Lta not preserving 17years+ buses is absolutely a stupid idea Why waste more materials for more digital buses? Just save money! Let the next younger generation see the old buses! Why want to keep them curious about the past of sg buses? Just only change it when the old buses cant be fixed no matter how much work was put into fixing it. Seriously, what is lta doing? Why must they have more digital buses? (well i guess for better and smoother bus travelling) they should just have done the same thing a country mentioned in the video did: keep one old model of every bus. Might also mention about the new tel, where the new platform signs really gave me a complete hate of the 6th mrt line. And to add to this, the new signs are good, but usually uses pictures instead of adding pictures and text next to the icons. Lta must be getting lazy with the new signs as i always see arrows and more icons. Lta better change up their new content or else im really gonna declare the 2020s aa the worst decade of my life. I might prob start getting disagrees and agrees and hate on me for a message showing my opinions

Alot of childhood memories in this video.....from staring down at the Bus Captain through the "periscope" on the old VOs to the feeling of riding a virtual "roller coaster" while on an older generation bendy....the VO2X NACs really brought back memories of me as a kid when I would beg my mom to let me take 246 from my kindergarten instead of 240 just to experience the VO/LOs back then.....then when I was in secondary school the service that I took(187) had alot more variety in it's fleet back then then there is today....I really miss the Scanias and O405s(L!!!) which used to perm 187 and who could forget those bendys? Last time Boon Lay used to be filled with them, being a staple on 172, 180 and 187, and taking one back then was so easy and it was really fun to especially as the BCs could speed all they want(no BSRF back then to mess things up) and the ride would become a roller coaster. Haiz....really sad that all these are nothing more than memories now, and yes, it's really typical of a Singaporean organisation to have so much red tape.....will really miss those days when the bus services were alot more interesting and diverse back then than they are today..... Really, thank you for keeping these memories alive for us bus enthusiasts and documenting them in this video

I remember being a bus and train enthusiast as a kid back in the day, where I can even tell the model/brand of the bus passing by just by listening to the engine sound, without looking at it, eg. the TIBS Mercedes vs a SBS Scania. Although I don't pay as much attention to it as an adult now, it does sadden me that there is little to no way to relieve those memories just for old time's sake. Having traveled to the UK a couple of times, I too can vouch that they are very proud of their public transport history. Adding on to this, when I saw your video of the old Changi Airport Skytrain rotting in a scrapyard, it broke my heart to see it in such a uncared, decrepit state, since that was one of my fondest memories of old Changi Airport; the old platform screen doors, the old buzzers alerting of the train arriving and doors opening, sitting in front pretending to drive the train, etc.

I'm glad that this video served it's purpose, to relieve old memories that the elites simply don't care about. It's rather unfortunate that the culture here is as such, and there's really very little we can do to change that. Maybe one day I'll probably outgrow this hobby as well since buses are making the move to the hybrid and electric phase which simply don't sound as good.

I think the reason why old buses in Singapore are not reserve is possibly due to the lack of manpower that are qualified or capable of maintaining these buses. Well, the government just confirmed one thing: Singapore has no soul. The government tries to avert this thinking by making fake-as-hell national day concerts no one asks for to show the world, but what we want is our nostalgia, to touch it, to get to experience it, not just remember it. Heck care about the dragon playground. Preserving buses that onced served people living in the era of those playgrounds for the sake of nostalgia is more important.

I'm astounded, at first I thought that your reasons would be petty but everything you said was actually what I was thinking and, beyond the many points of why we should preserve our old buses. This itself is a crime towards history and it's sad that the higher ups don't see it that way because their way too comfortable driving their cars most of the time. And what's even sad is that we can't technically protest about this and that all we can do is just voice out our opinions. I just hope that in the future someone in the higher ups of Ministry of Transport or LTA would see this and tackle this with the most appropriate and reasonable response instead of just saying "it's deemed too dangerous after its lifespan" or whatever you just stated in this video.

The loud purr of the ZF or Voith on the old B10M Mk IVs and Leyland/Volvo Olympians were a staple of my primary school years. I didn’t appreciate them as much back then, but now as a secondary school student, I’m beginning to miss the pure power of the buses. This is only made worse when the only taste of ZF is on the quiet B9TLs or the screeching vacuum that is the K230UB. I hope that the LTA takes a better approach towards vehicles at the end of their service lifespan by doing something meaningful as opposed to simply scrapping them...

9:50 brought me back alotta memories.As a Tamp resident,I just feel the intense nostalgia everytime I see a pic of Tamp from the 2000s.It was my childhood,and it looked far better back then(to me),than the now ever-so-graying state that it is in. That aside,the buses back then were a genuine pleasure to ride.It was an experience to ride the bus.These days,riding one can be compared to be sitting in a grey-walled room;it's bland.

I’ve seen preserved old buses here in Jakarta, the numbers are very small but kinda good in variety, the oldest running being a Fuso MR from 1963 owned by a coach company in Central Java. Said coach company’s owner is also a vehicle collector. The city’s oldest bus company PPD preserved 2 old mercedes buses.

I agree with your points. Even HK, a relatively land scarce country like SG can have some sentimental and appreciative efforts of bus preservation. At least SMRT did a tribute tour on their iconic 0405 and a farewell video too. Surprised you didn't mention that in your video. I think that'll be the only sort of preservation effort we can reasonably expect in Singapore which is really sad.
@glitchFan2428
@glitchFan2428 4 жыл бұрын
SMRT indeed had a farewell video for the last O405 (TIB832Z) but there was no tribute tour done when it was due to retire. In addition, the very last trip of the O405 went completely unannounced, so I had to take it on multiple occasions in a row as any day might be it's last. A decade or so ago however, members of the public were allowed to charter public buses and hence could create their own tribute tours. This was not initiated by SMRT as far as I know, but definitely had their support. Now the chartering of public buses is not allowed unless for an employee funeral.

It could be lifespan extension to be road-worthy or have to buy two more Larc V (I wonder if SAF is selling it, because before the Duck began operations in 2002, it is owned by SAF. When the Duck is formed in 2001, approval was sought by the government. But the Big Bus Tours is significant - can actually buy MAN ND323F or Volvo B9TL 3-axle, maybe 2-axle buses also can.

I lived in North Shore city in Auckland, and two companies in my city - "BAYS" and "RITCHIES" were holding various ex. Singapore buses. and some of them still had Singapore bus signboard inside too. My favorite model was SB220, because I love this square, precise design. also these Singapore buses were 'air-conditioned' buses. so I always ride route. 945 or 555 bus after school, only for ride this SB220 buses. also in school holidays, I participated YMCA sport, field trip class and I could ride "BAYS" ex. Singapore buses too. It was great experience to ride Singapore articulated buses (bendy buses) in New Zealand! I first came to Singapore in 2016 before ahem BCM took place. One of the first memories of SG buses at that time was a Habit on 106. Then when i moved here in 2017 I and Everyday, VSOs, B10Ms B10BLEs, Tridents and sometimes Habits passed by. those fond memories of these buses some of which were still from the SBS & TIBS era flooded by. But sadly the Tridents went into history and the desto buses too. Then the last straw was the VSO. I rode it last in Dec 2019 while it retired during the circuit breaker (not including SBS9889U which remained my rep for a long time). Didnt even have a chance to say goodbye. To this day i can still recall the roars of SBS9829T and those BNDEP VSOs on 23 passing by my pri sch. Then SBS9889U got oofed and then Habits. Still quite in shock to this day how many buses were so close yet so far nowadays, especially some bendies which i had the opportunity to see but not ride. Where I live in the UK just north of Manchester, Bury we used to have MK1 Merc Citaros and they were great up until the point they were falling apart and then went off to be scrapped without a kiss goodbye. They then brought along single and double decker Volvo BT7L's most on them a 55 plate or a 57 or a 58 plate. That was with bus operator First. However with the closure of one of their depots in Bury they have pulled out of Manchester as a whole and two new operators Diamond and Go North West have moved in. At the moment the old worn out single decker Volvos are being either refurbished or like the majority of them, scrapped. The Double Deckers are being refurbished. This is still on going at the moment as they still have the old First bus decals on them but they have added a few MK1 Facelift Citaros the ones you have and some MK2 Citaros too for Diamond. They have bought a brand new 19 plate Volvo B8L Gemini 3 for Diamond and I think an Enviro 200 on a 58 or 59 plate i'm not sure I've only seen it briefly but yeah hopefully the buses that do go for scrap are in a better place now because the Great British roads are crap and have shaken all the buses to death.

I never knew that bus preservation was outlawed in Singapore!? Here in Australia we’re REALLY lucky when it comes to buses, as we’re probably about 10 years behind technologically, so we’re stuck with plenty of older buses. There’s thousands of decidated bus enthusiasts in Sydney, many of whom own former route buses themselves. All buses in Sydney are privatised, and the companies are always happy to sell an old bus to an enthusiast, and sometimes they’ll even help to restore it to original condition before they sell/donate it. I’m so sorry that your buses have to suffer painful deaths without being presented the chance for a second lease on life, it really is a shame that preservation in Singapore seems to be a none. Sorry to hear this sad truth, I really hope that something changes so that you can preserve your buses. 🚌🇦🇺✌️

It's nice to see that Hong Kong at least has ways to keep the buses alive, although with restrictions. LTA is not caring for us about our favorite buses and just destroy our dreams about scrapping our old buses with nice ZF kickdowns or gearbox or our feelings, even LTA doesn't know how to use money wisely like how the Refurbished C651 project end up being terminated and scrapped it is vary upsetting how our government doesn't care about us interested in public transport. If LTA has a heart to use some land space in Singapore like old Beaches and open space areas,now we only have to treasure our remaining buses or the C151s,C651s or C751Bs including CDGEs as they are going to be gone soon😭. LTA should also extend the lifespan of buses for up to 35 years if they don't want the old buses in the country,how I wish Singapore was preserving buses like the UK but unfortunately we are living in a place like this that we should keep memory of our old buses or trains Really wanted to have a time machine to go back to the old days like the 2000s to visit our childhood:(.

It is interesting to mention about the 17 years of life spanrule for buses, if LTA is concerned about that. If you can't keep buses, then why hoard more MRTs? C151s have been operating since the beginning for about 30 years even though all of them underwent refurbishments, it may not look old but its still part of history, heading to be scrapped and removed from service soon. I do really wish LTA can get their heads around this paranoia they have about preserving. They don't allow companies to keep the old busses, but still allow vintage old vehicles on the road but with a yellow and red plate license. Two-faced indeed. I am planning to do a video on the whole of Singapore's rolling stock and some of its history. You can read the script a little and if you would like to contribute, feel free to contact me! Hey man, your video is epic and I love it! As a Malaysian, could you send me a copy of the email that you’ve emailed to LTA? I’d like to send the same to APAD and RapidKL to see whether if I could acquire their older fleet of buses for preservation.

Hello there neighbour from up North! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, although I would have to decline sharing the email with you. I will say that it's based rather loosely on the content of this video and focuses on preservation from a more specific singaporean context. Therefore I feel it might not be suitable for your needs. I wish you all the best in persuading the authorities on your side to preserve buses! Especially since I believe y'all don't have this 17 year nonsense over there.

I am a bus enthusiast and because of that, my friends and schoolmates think I’m weird just for taking pictures of buses because I’m probably the only one in my entire school that is a bus enthusiast. I think if my teachers find out about my hobby, they will probably also ask me to stop. Even one of my schoolmates in my contacts is disappointed/angry with me just for being a bus enthusiast. Even though I have not been stopped by an interchange security guard before, I do understand that sometimes others may be stopped by a security guard for taking photos of buses. Like others, I will probably also miss the Scania KUBs when they retire. Why can’t they understand more about this community?

Rewatching this video after two years now. You have hit a key point in addressing the ever growing concern of enthus. It really is a shame that there is little hope for these workhorses that were once the norm of Singapore roads. Now that every last one of them has been taken off the roads, preservation efforts do look bleak for us.(There is still hope for TIB1238H tho). The government's stance on bus preservation is clearly dubious and nothing can justify it. However, I have to bring this point up that large-scale preservation in Singapore is obviously unfeasible due to the lack of land and it will be essentially duplicating the entire bus fleet which does not make sense at all. Some younger bus enthus can get easily swayed by such bold statements and videos like this one and think that it is the government's priority and duty to preserve buses and are quick to comment that "LTA sucks lah!" It is clear that the government has other intentions to better modernise Singapore's fleet to cater to the growing demand and the welfare of passengers(yesteryears don't even have the mod cons like charging ports that modern buses have). Plus, many Singaporeans don't give a s-- about the type of bus they are on and some people really hate yesteryears as well. The previous argument still does not justify the reasons not to preserve. But I think, unlike in HK or UK, LTA can adopt small-scale preservation efforts to preserve at least maybe five to six yesteryears, which is enough for Singapore's land size, and have them put up as dedicated displays like what can be seen in Woodlands ITH. Furthermore, buses can occasionally be brought out for joyrides with the public invited to ride on them. Also, the buses can be used to catch the attention of Singaporeans towards any major LTA/SBST/SMRT events and also become a tool for advertising(Again...TIB1238H is a good candidate). So I can argue that preservation is still possible in 2022.

Indeed, like what I said in the video, it's not feasible to preserve the entire fleet. No country in the world does that 😅. But small scale, one unit per model at least is a pretty standard thing to do. I don't think space constraints is an issue because ultimately, very few people would take up the duty to preserve buses anyway when compared to like the space that a private bus fleet takes up for example. Ultimately, with the 20 Scanias going to Changi village, there is at the very least less wastage of buses, although there is little or no historical meaning behind it
@axan50transportproductions
@axan50transportproductions 2 жыл бұрын
@@glitchFan2428 Yep that's true as well. It does make sense to keep at least one unit per model in service. It is also true that there are very few bus enthus in Singapore(probably a couple hundred) and even fewer that are keen on chipping in to preserve and maintain these old buses. Not to mention that there aren't any, it is just that some enthus will also give up this hobby for something else in their lives. The 20 KUBs going to the resort is a good thing to hear, but just like 9817C or 2988M, it isn't being preserved for its heritage value. So idk lah really.

In HK, vintage bus preserving is extremely difficult for ordinary people like us, so as someone can buy some old bus, you have to know that they have already beaten the current and preserve them as they like. Btw Citybus HK also preserved a SG version Leyland Atlantean with modernized hood, she was in very good condition now, but they can't run on HK street like normal...

Yup I think it's also quite hard in HK but it's actually possible unlike SG. I'm aware of that bus, CTB 633 if I remember correctly. Hope to be able to see it someday in HK.

My take is this. LTA, MOT focues on the present and future. Their role is to develope the infrastrucure and build on forward. This is a good sign as we continuously evolve and advance. The fact that we are progressing at a pretty rapid pace(imo) based on the fact that older buses are being retired and then scrapped shows that. Though it is sad to see these old buses going to scrap, it would be good to at least preserve them. I feel however that LTA does not seem to be involved in this as they look forward in the future. Perhaps if this issue is raised more then it could possibly work? Idk. But lets know what will this lead to. It will be nice if they build a meuseum, like a transport meuseum. We already have a mobility gallery. More of a exhibition. So showcases these retied assets are doable but i think there needs to be commitment. We wish to preserve old buses and trains. That would mean you need to allocate resources. Though factly speaking i think it wont be a bombastic amount, it is still an asset and requires resources. With that said, you need to build a meuseum to house and preserve the vehicles. These are doable that is a fact. No question about it but how many of us here would really like to see this as a reality? That is the big question? You can start a petition and see how many votes you can garner. My take. I have another thought on the other hand. Most public gallerys, meuseums are all managed by a different govt agency. Perhaps i feel that LTA is not supposed to be really involved in such developments? Idk what do u think? Maybe let the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture(is that the right ministry that manages these gallery) do it? It could fall under a different agency or organisation which may sit well for that agency. I think it should fall under another organisation for that role it is supposed to cater to. Lets be honest here, many have taken buses and trains but many may have taken it for granted. There are many (i think) who just sees these as equipments/machinery to bring us to place to place. Nothing more. I am no enthu in general and i appreciate the progress that are being made. However there are people who may not be bothered by such things, and consider it as being completely unecessary and a waste of time and resources.(those very complain kings) Then, there are those who are arent really bothered by this kind of thing who neither supports or are against it(bo chup) so i wont have anything against them lol. I know a friend or people i am not close to, who are bus, trains or transport enthus. Sometimes they get made fun off(not nice) simply because they are into these kind of things. Or were asked why would they be interested in this(alright) I am sure there are many of you who may have face this yourselves as well. I think the issue is the stigma(not sure if it is the right word). I can imgaine people really asking is there a need to preserve buses? To be fair in other areas, i am not an art kind of person so i would have the bo chup attitude to these kind of things(sorry to the art people) I like interactive and digital art though. They are kinda cool. Guess it fits me more haha

They can focus on the present, but not allowing us to preserve the bus using our own resources is what ticks me off. Sure , you don't want to contribute to the cause because you have more important things to worry about (like a billion dollar deficit) but not allowing us to even export and operate the bus abroad simply because they are lazy to do the paperwork is something else. Singapore has one of the best public transport networks in the world in terms of area covered. It's just a shame that we don't appreciate it enough when it's time to say goodbye.

@@glitchFan2428 I believe it can be done. I think the commubity just need to find the right person/organisation, the right place for it. I think starting a petition might help for a start. What is needed is support. How big is the transport community(those that are deeply passionate in buses and trains)

There's around 500+ I guess? Those really on and passionate about buses. Not counting those that just enjoy bus rides all. @@glitchFan2428 Social media is all buzzing. I think it can spread well. You never know there are people who may not be that so much interested like this community but yet like the idea of a meuseum to house the retired buses. The (ok and chill) people who are generally interested and curious. I remember joining my friend who likes buses to an open house at the bus depot between khatib and yishun(if im not wrong). Was pleasantly surprised by the no. of people who turn up at the event. There are curious people out there who may not be like that of my friend who i think is pretty hardcore but are just generally interested. The kids especially. I may not be an enthu but i know that when i was young, i loved the trains. Looking at the opposite tracks was satisfying to me(idk why lol) the colors of the trains as well. Those C751Bs were new and a rare sight back then so i always liked that new train since it was the only one with black and red paintings. It lookes nicer to me. Smells nice too lol. Mum would always made sure i dont go too near to the tracks as there were no platform screen doors on above ground stations back then. Dont want to see your child fall into the tracks and worst still get crushed by a train. Oof Back to the issue. If there is one issue i feel if whatever organisation were to tasked on building a meuseum for preservation, it would be space. Size will be a big issue imo. There are alot of bus models that have served from different bus operators. As time goes by, you will get more buses or trains looking at the rapid pace we are evolving. It is good but i think a dilemia. I think it is not possible to house every single model of buses. Idk how many models that have join the fleet for the past 20 years since the turn of the century but i think it is alot. You can preserve some but not every model will have its place. I feel. Location is important as well. I myself am into defence related developments. I have been to the army and airforce meuseum. Not yet for navy lol. At changi naval base there it is far. They cant display their entire past military equipment that were part of their orbat. Realistically no. Given the size of the organisation. Some just cant fit. The Kc 135 stratotankers are huge for that. I was like no way they can store it. Size is a problem. I was hoping to see a F5 s/t but none at the airforce meuseum. Their gallery was nice though. Location is not so convenient. Changi naval base and the army meuseum at joo koon(the other end) beside singapore discocvery centre. You dont get many visitors. Singaporeans can go for free thats for sure. If a meuseum were to be open, it is really a loss. For me all in the name of education, history and national pride perhaps? . Which i see no difference for a transport meuseum. It is build as a reminder of the past. Local meuseums for our context do not make revenue and is not for profit unlike fancy exhibits and gallerys at the art science meuseum or others. Their location is critical in attracting the no. National gallery is a good location. Not thay it was built there. It was converted from an old courthouse hence it wasnt meant to be there in the first place but was repurposed which is good use. Sitting at the heart, it is perhaps the only local meuseum that sees many visitors. I think the next will be the founder's memorial. Location, size plays a role. Putting a transport meuseum at somewhere not visited by many could render it out of commision due to low visitor rates. Not being use for profit is fine but not being able to attract the attention of visitors for education is worst as it serves no purpose by not reaching out to vast majority.

@@Benjamin-wy4dj honestly on the popularity of a potential bus museum, there's little way to get hard data on how it might fare. I actually can't relate much to the contents of most museum visits as most of which focus on singapore history before I was born. Buses on the other hand are things that almost everyone has in some way or other grown up with. Bus carnivals in the past have had rather healthy attendance, reinforcing the fact that the "ok and chill" people are somewhat interested in buses.
