Huge, huge respects to Mr Guek (or Mr Doraemon 😆) as well as to all the bus captains in Singapore! I really cannot imagine waking up that early, let alone doing it for years and years! Admittedly, sometimes I feel bad when I get annoyed that the bus I'm waiting for arrives slow/late...this video really is a reminder and a wake-up call to me (and perhaps others) to be more mindful and considerate of our bus capts, for afterall they're humans too. Thanks to Ghib as well for showing this side of SG that we don't get to see in our daily lives 😊

My dad is a sbs driver who has been working for 35yrs taking care of us 3 siblings sole breadwinner. Is really respect and not easy. Thank u for showing this. Pls be nice to the drivers. My dad got verbally abused during covid times when asking passenger to wear a mask.

Yes. It’s so hard Bec bus captains just doing their job but get abused or even assaulted at times. Not fair to them!

I am a bus driver in Switzerland and have been driving for 23 years and 1 month now. I wish we had the relaxing working atmosphere here as the bus captains have in Singapore. Hats off to Singapore for having such an amazing work environment. Best wishes and good health to all the bus captains in Singapore. Our company and many others could learn alot from just watching this video.

A great report. I'm a bus driver in Sydney Australia (we're called Bus Operators). The depot I operate from has around 600 buses, there are another 15 depots in Sydney. I love the job, except Sydney traffic! Your report shows a very similar operation to us in Sydney with a 24/7 operation! Well done on this report!

I remembered one bus driver who had a stomach upset and it was an Express bus. He stopped at the last bus stop before the nonstop route, i felt bad for him and reminded myself how difficult it is for them during this kind of situation.

I was a Bus Driver for 12 yrs in the UK until Ill health made me finish driving Large vehicles, I enjoyed it immensly , only downside was the hours, we had to work different shifts everyday, one day may have been a 04.15 and finish at 11.10hrs , start the next day maybe a 14.00 start and finish at 21.00hrs so a social life was awkward, luckily I had an understanding girlfriend!!

I always change buses at the stop closest to the bus depot in Frankfurt, Germany. I always talk to the bus drivers while waiting. I have heard all kinds of interesting stories. from them having to reanimate a passenger, to sorting out conflicts between passengers, to figuring out where the parents of a lost child were. One driver told me he accidentally was in the middle of a police chase. They were all super nice. Yesterday I talked to a lady who works in the cafeteria of the bus depot. She is originally from Vietnam and since many of the bus drivers are from so many different countries, the cafeteria always cooks different international meals. She told me that she loves learning to cook not only German, but also Turkish, Moroccan, Indian, Polish, or Persian dishes for example. She also sometimes cooks Vietnamese food. I love it when so many people from different places embrace each other’s cultures and cuisines. It’s so much better to learn from each other than to hate each other

Appreciate all the transport workers everywhere, and of course Mr Guik and the bus captains of SG. I'll never forget all the the kindness they showed me when I asked a ton of questions like "what's the most scenic bus route" and "How do I report a lost NETS card" (I thought I lost it, but I just left it at my friend's place in a rush.) It takes some patience to do the job with safety and service in mind, please remember that when you step aboard on your next journey!
