Summing up his season to two games against the lakers is not fair. He put up 29/10/7 against the Suns last week, the team they were battling for the 6th seed. Was that not a big game also? What about the 2 games prior to the lakers (Sac & GS)? He scored 31 & 26 respectively. In the GS game, he had 6 steals!!! ( For April he is averaging 2.3 steals/game and 1.3 blocks) These were all must-win games. His offensive numbers this year took a hit because he finally got to play with BI & CJ for more than a couple of games. Before this season they only played 13 games together. You cite his december 2022 stats but conveniently leave out that he did that without BI who was hurt during that time. When a team has 3 20-point scores in their starting lineup like the pelicans, it kinda caps their scoring ceiling. Anybody who actually watches the pelicans games and not just the box scores after would tell you the biggest growth in zion's game this year has come on the defensive side of the ball, especially during the month of April when every game mattered for them. Finally, complaining about his availability over the start of his career while not acknowledging that he has played in 70 games this year and missed 2 for the birth of his child is again misleading. This year Vegas had the pelicans wins at o/u 44 games. They won 49 in an absolutely stacked western conference. I'm not saying you can't be critical of Zion or even the pelicans, but if I only watch your video and none of this year's games I would think Zion regressed and the pelicans was lottery bound because of it.

NO ONE CARES. He's a former number one overall pick & supposed to be a generational talent in the likes of Shaq, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Hakeem, Charles Barkley, or Wembanyama. So far in his career, he's UNDERPERFORMING. Your next game is always the most important & my Lakers with old man EPO James run the Pelicans off the court. This isn't even the first time this season he and the Pelicans have laid a goose egg on one of the biggest games of the season.
@r.brumfield624429 күн бұрын
@@atlien1988 When you compare him to the best big men the game has ever had, sure he underperformed. Although his scoring efficiency is comparable or greater than the guys you mentioned despite being considerably shorter than them minus Chuck. Also, I noticed you referenced YOUR lakers (i'm sure there's no bias there). The lakers have been a bad matchup for the pelicans this year, it happens. I am willing to bet if YOUR team was OKC (1 seed) or MIN (3 seed) your opinion of his game would be different as he performed pretty good against them. The same way the lakers dominated OKC this year yet OKC is the 1 seed and the lakers are in the play-in. If I only watched OKC when they played the lakers I would believe they're a lottery team. However, I would be wrong.

A lot of facts here but a lot of the criticisms in the video are valid. Zion has had an up and down defensive season but he has been solid for the last couple weeks. It’s really just his health that’s the issue tho. His offensive game hasn’t progressed bc he spends every off season trying to get healthy again and hasn’t come into the season in shape. Pels will win on Tuesday and we’ll see how they do in the playoffs
@r.brumfield624429 күн бұрын
@@madisonbordenave4869 criticizing Zion’s conditioning to start the season is more than fair. His defensive effort for most of his career deserves ridicule. The timing of this video claiming “he doesn’t care”just seems weird considering his performance this year. It seems like an overreaction to the game yesterday. For example, if he put out a video claiming Anthony Davis has been unreliable for his career spending far too many games in street clothes with minor injuries. Also the lakers have been waiting for him to take the reins from LeBron as the leader of the team, but he still hasn’t. You can also criticize the fact that outside of that bubble championship year the lakers has been in the play-in or missed the playoffs completely during AD tenure. All of this is true, but putting out a video about it after AD has played one of his best seasons while playing in more than 70 games would equally be silly.

Zion has his issues, I just think the Pels have a bad roster around him, not talent wise, but fit wise. They played their best ball with Lonzo because he’s a real PG that could shoot and play defense. CJ can shoot, but oftentimes he is hit or miss because he hunts his shot instead of moving the ball to the better options like Zion and BI. He’s also atrocious in the clutch but insists on shooting his team out of games. Maybe Willie Green isn’t a good coach since he’s trying the Point Zion experiment, you need a PG with good vision to set Zion and Ingram up.

Zion has to first transform his body to reduce the pressure on his knees, hips, ankles etc. Then improve his jump shot to keep the defense honest. My concern has always been, longevity and diversifying his skillset. Personally, I believe he needs to be in the low 240s for weight (listed at 284lbs).

It reminds me of a worse version of Sean Kemp, another freak athlete, the way this same issue tanked his career. Zion seemed to come into the league with the discipline problem that Kemp developed during his later career. Sad, I really wanted to watch this dude try to reach his peak but he decided it wasn't worth the sacrifice of his comfort to him to try to get there. It happens every now and then in the NBA and it always sucks to see it.

The goat debate 😂 not because I think Zion is it should be in it 😂 let’s just say the top 2 are MJ & Bron - these 2 guys just really have minimal negatives. They were great their entire careers won a tonne twam and individual longevity all of it - did Zion have goat potential coming out of college?? It always seems extremely unlikely obviously - but Zion was hyped in HS, hyped in college & hyped coming into the league. Crazy part is he was actually living up to it - now like 5 years in - even forget goat - a guy with clear as day top 20 all time potential - is that gone? It feels like any chance of him finishing with a high all time ranking is gone. Wemby - he has done all he can his first year to keep the hype and potential going. Can’t do anymore than he has this year. Say Zion & Wemby both retired at the end of this year….. who would you have ranked higher all time?? I’d say Wemby…. & that feels crazy. I think Zion just needs a change honestly. It could be the franchise it could be him who knows - it doesn’t matter really - he needs change. We are talking a guy with all time potential - has now become essentially forgotten. It’s pretty sad.

He can't shoot and mostly won't even attempt 3s or mid range even when he's left wide open for days and he's at 70% from the line., At then there's he's availability..people aren't supposed to be happy when a player is playing, a player is supposed to play..

The boy is weak, nutrition wise, backbone/character wise, skill wise, ambition wise. Needed to be traded long ago, he is keeping other from developing and playing. Him and Willie had 4 months to prepare for Lakers copying their game plan from the tournament on them. They did nothing, zero adjustment. They have nice talent pool and picks and good roster, they need to shake it up. But, small market teams always afraid of dishing stars and usually overpays them without results.

He’s escaped the bust narrative I think but barely. Not that it’s all his fault. He was a media hyped creation before a good sample could be established

Zion is 22 or 23 and he's 4 40 player in 21 st year guard him !? Like where is his awareness and competitive edge .Bron plays no defense and is gassed . This is pathetic by Zion ,his mentality should be " you cannot guard me " at all
