Many of the bible passages where written hundred of years before the events occured, as it happens with the gospel of Luke and Matthew, and many were left out. Most ideas get lost in translation to the point that even the name of Jesus was changed. So is not the word of God. Jesus lived as a poor carpenter in a poor gentile palestine village in the middle east controlled by the romans. He specifically talks about the poor because his whole village was poor and starving, that is why miracles like the multiplication of bread and fish, turning water in wine.where so meaningful to people.

I really have a hard time understanding how the Robertsons never get off 1st base and move on to the meat of scripture. Salvation is the greatest story ever told, but then what? I ask what made it all necessary? That's were the meat is.

@@jamesgillice2123 Of course the Gospel comes first, but the N.T. does say then move on from milk to meat. The Robertsons are fine brothers who remain milk consumers. Salvation is more than just behavioral modification.

Dead men can't accept anything. They're dead. The scriptures say that God predestined and ordained our beginning and our end. We have no part in our salvation. Dead men can't save themselves. God does the saving and God chose the elect before creation.

It is so sad to see all these christians pretending that they know what God thinks. Only God knows that. And the Bible was written by men, and there are many versions of it because men is flawed and had many selfish interests when they selected the scriptures. If you look the dates, many of them where written hundreds of years before Christ had passed away. And there are many things that got lost in translation including Jesus name itself. So reading the bible, whatever it is, is nothing but a book club no different than a star wars gathering.
