The Saddest Rescue we Ever Had To make...

My partner Kevin and I got a call from a gentleman, Nestor, that asked us to rescue his fish some of them which he's had for 20 years. Nestor was recently diagnosed with cancer of his kidney which spread to his lungs. He can no longer care for his fish and worries that he will not have enough time or energy to take care of them while undergoing treatment. He did not ask for any money or anything, all he asked for was that the fish be put in a good home which shows how selfless and thoughtful he is. We know treatment is not cheap. He fought till the end he got home hospice June ,5,24 he lasted 32 days without chemo before taking his last breath in my arms while he said I love you to me. Hello All! I come with some good news. Seems the treatments plus all your well wishes is starting to show hope. We got the news a few hours ago about most of the cancer mass's shrinking a little apart from one that grow ever so slightly bigger in his right kidney. The doctor wanted to see a far better results then what we got, but it better having some progress then no progress to the treatment. I have said Nestor is in a 2 year plan treatment for the cancer. So hopefully with continuing the treatment the progress in the future we'll have better results. Once again with eyes full of tears I/ We are so grateful for all of the wonderful wishes and support you have given to us. Sending my warmest of thoughts to all those going through hard time in life. I'm here if ever one of you' wish to share or talk of some troubles you are going through. We need to know we are not as alone with troubles in our life's as we feel we are. much love from Michigan. he needs to alkaline his body. the cancer treatments they offer is worse than the cancer itself. alkaline foods 24/7 365 no meats or potatoes or wheat or corn or grains. breaks down as acids. meats are the reason for most of the health issues in this country and not many american drs. will even tell u this.

I'm going through the same thing.I had prostate cancer 3 years ago and now it has returned.They dis catch it early enough but I will have to do treatments.Cancer treatments have cone a long way.They are constantly improving.If you can your doctor might sign you up for experimental treatment.This would be a good opportunity for you and I would accept if it's possible.Good luck cancer sucks.

We lost our dad to spine cancer that was missed he was just uncomfortable for a small time told the dr and they ran all the tests and scans went in to have it removed and found it had grown into his lungs and liver also and that was only a few months. Rod you and your crew are great people doing this. This goes out to Nester I'm not going to lie to you. I'm a cancer Survivor myself. You are in for the ride of your life. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments kicked the crap out of me. So don't be surprised if it doesn't do the same thing to you. But you look like a strong person with a positive attitude and using your own strength that I see you have from just seeing from video you will be fine. @@719peachy He would have 27 this year. Neuroblastoma is a very cruel cancer. It grows and encases everything in it or just creates huge masses. The first tumor they found was the size of a lady's softball, and pushed his left kidney down an inch and pushed the liver out an inch. When it came back the second time, it was all over and inside the blood-brain barrier. Eventually, it grew so large that it collapsed the part of the sinus cavity and compressed the optic nerve in both eyes so he was basically blind. I was glad that he was with us even though for a short time. I love him and miss him dearly!

It’s not vast, but it’s something. This guy cares, he cares about the well-being of his fish. That matters. I am wishing Nestor all the best. So this is beyond heart breaking to me. I have lost 10 very close family members to Cancer, I have 2 that have won their battles. My 23 year old nephew just beat stage 3 testicular Cancer that had spread to his stomach, lungs, and brain lining. DJ got to ring the bell yesterday. Would be nice if you could keep one arowana and the red tail for a little while at least for when he gets better fingers crossed, would be a great recovery gift returning the two favourites back to them. that's if they would want them or some smaller ones to grow out.

I worked in pet stores for around 20 years. It's great to see someone giving their fish the space they need. Most people buy a red tail when it's 2 inches long and get rid of it when it starts getting bigger, or just let it die. I would love to keep red tails, but I just don't have the space for one. Funny thing is, when I watch River Monsters, I sit there tsaying, "I sold those when they were 2" long!" Back in the day (25 years ago), the book, "Tank Busters" put a lot into perspective for me and helped to advise my customers. Thankfuly, those that knew what they were getting into left with said fish, the others, I was allowed to not sell it to them.

I have had to give up a lot because of my body conditions. And now I am battling my legs and infection issues. I am down to just my 90g, planted tank with corys and shrimp and my small dog that I worry about when I have to go to hospital. He then only has someone that checks up on him and feeds him.
