I remember how Zambia housed our soldiers and politicians of our liberation movement in the 80's under the brave Dr. Kenneth Kaunda(Nelson Mandela's best friend). The racist little Apartheid boertjies would often threaten African nations, if they were ever to interfere in SA politics, they'd be invaded. Dr Kaunda gave them the middle finger! Every Military attack we did, was initiated straight from Lusaka to South Africa. The little boertjies didn't know what hit them lol. Today we have a large statue of Dr. Kenneth Kaunda in our country to honor him and Zambian people. Much Respect to Zambia and Zambian people, love from SA!

This has brought tears to my eyes. That was one very good national soccer team. If memory serves me correct, the team was very close to qualifying for the FIFA World Cup. Very close. In the end Morocco went through, due to some dubious officiating. I may be wrong. The players that succeeded that team maintained an almost similarly high standard. Respect, from Kenya.

I remember exactly how I heard the news in 1993, my dad was listening to BBC via radio and heard it and told us. I was 12 yrs old and in the 7th grade. My heart just shattered into pieces. I knew their names each and everyone one of them and today 11th December 2019 i watched this video and saw some of the names I used to call myself when playing football as a kid...and I have failed to hold back my tears. They will forever be missed. RIP

The Zambian team before the crash was a very strong team. I believe that they would be able to qualify to the WC in 1994 if the air plane crash didn't occur. When i was in Africa my nickname on a Football pitch was not Roberto Baggio, Ronaldo il fenomeno or Maradona but Kalusha Bwalya. What a player he was!!!

That's why, history is extremely important! History is the flagpost that makes you understand, who you are and why things are, the way they are, and the necessary steps in every decision we make individually or collectively.
