Someone was still riding this poor baby?? That's just the most horrific thought. Handsome little guy still only so young at 6 yrs old. Barely more than a baby. Oh god his poor hooves. THE BEST THING IS HE FINALLY KNEW REAL LOVE . YOU DID EVERYYHING YOU COULD FOR BEAUTIFUL ANGEL PUMPKIN. Sleep well handsome boy. Fly free. Noone can hurt you anymore. Pumpkin reminds me so much of my first pony... He was a rescue too. £50 is all I paid for a 22 yr old gelding who also didn't have a name. He had just been called the white pony. We brought him home. I was 12 and he was 22. We named him Major . Major was an amazing pony with such a big heart that had love for the whole world 100x over. He was skinny with overgrown hooves. Cuts on his legs and belly. Major had only 1 eye. Noone knew what happened to the other. He probably had been missing it most his life. Vets and other people we knew helped us get him well. It took nearly 2 yrs. At 14 now with major and another rescue called Caine .. who was only a yearling. I sat on Majors back for the first time. And it was the best feeling ever. He was an amazing ride. He would try anything. Soft mouth soft eyes soft coat was our Major. We had 11 good years together. And did pony club , rallies and camps..and street parades. He wasn't fancy bred. He had no papers. Noone could remember what breed he was. We hazard a guess at a Welshx Arab. He passed away in his sleep just shy of 35. And he had been still used by the local tiny tots as a lesson horse. He refused to stop work. I miss him everyday. Hopefully Pumpkin can meet Major. And my boy would look after him.

At least Pumpkin knew love and proper care in his final days from the wonderful people (and animals!) in THR. But, at the age of 6 he should have had years of life ahead of him to still enjoy. Instead, he had probably endured 6 years of neglect and torment and his suffering was obvious. I have nothing but contempt for his horrible owners. In memory of Pumpkin and all the cruelly neglected animals I will make a donation towards your wonderful work.

Could not agree more. And it is not just horses. Spain needs to up its game or they are not worthy of being called humans. The EU needs to step in here. Animal cruelty is the rule, not the exceptions.
@yos.56842 жыл бұрын
@@maititikka8795 We do still have problems regarding animal welfare but please don't think this level of mistreatment is the rule in Spain, not at least where I live. I'm Spanish and have ridden horses since the age of 9 in different places. Have I seen slightly questionable procedures at times? Yes. But never in equestrian schools I've seen something remotely similar to this. Never seen emaciated, ill and abandoned horses. All of them were taken care of with vet checks every few months. The owners of the stables I go to now have happy, loved and cared horses. Also most singular owners I've known spend a great amount of effort and time with their animals. When I go to the countryside I see horses often and most of them look fine. Please don't say we'll not be worthy of being called humans and associate that to a whole nationality. Do we need to keep working on educating people? Yes. We're not still where we should. But Spain is a country, like every other, with very varied people. Most people here are horrified by animal abuse, like you.
