Actually, Hiisi doesn't mean a goblin, it's a Finnic god or good spirit or something like that. it can also mean a place. Hiisi means goblin in modern Finnish, because Christians wanted to change the names of old holy places to mean something evil, so that people's connection to their own folk religion would weaken over time. the following text is taken from wikipedia, not everyone may find it reliable, but it soundet to be approximately as I remembered: "According to Agricola, Hiisi is a worshiped creature, with the help of which the foresters were defeated.
