They have a thing called a lateral line on their sides, and is very sensitive to changes in the water. If the fish next to them move then they’ll feel the change in the water and know to move so that the other fish doesn’t run into them. The lateral line also detects changes in the pressure of the water so they can sense when something is in the water and or next to them

I’ve caught an Atlantic sailfish on a spinner reel. Lost 3/5 that I had on. Those thing fight hard, but it all pays off to get to see it up close with its vibrant blue colors. They’re beautiful fish.
