Then they went off the rockers by 4 game and agents of mayhem which may not be saints game but it takes place in a recreated world made by gat after his trip in hell and reboot is a blantly bad mistake by people who clearly didn't read the room, overpromised under deliver, hell story was dog shit stupid and annoying, trying to appeal to a generation who probably didn't gave a shit about the game (aka twitter crowd), and clearly publisher embracer group and other top executives are out of touch with gamers as usual. Call me crazy, but I'll always believe that "heightened racial tensions" is the reason why the reboot distanced itself from the OG culture of 2, and "cultural-insentisivities" of the power-fantasy of 3 and 4. Also the reason why they took IdolNinja's 2 patch and scrapped it once he died. Nope, can't have content that promotes the stereotype of gang violence, can't have content that portrays women as objects (pffft.) We're gonna make it about the woes of our personal post-college lives and you're gonna LIKE it. There's never gonna be another game like the original Saints Rows. The "modern audience" decrees it as societal degradation. Which is funny, because it seems like an awfully conservative standpoint. ...I dunno. Imagine Imagine if the characters were more likable, to at least have them have traits and quirks that can make them endearing instead of quirky teens. Imagine then that Mission where they shoot Eli, have him and/or Kevin Die. Honestly, something like that SHOULD have been what the entire opening act should have been focused around, its like, a perfect, basic and pretty like sensible way of going about it. Throw away all the shit with Marshall that we KNOW the Boss is going to be fired from and focus on the Death of a main character as the catalyst for the Group to toughten up and form the Saints.

Played through it last year when Volition went under. The character & vehicle customization were very flexible, but the story paled to the rest of the franchise even after they removed some of the lines. The definite tragedy was the inclusion of the in memoriam page at the end of the game with IdolNinja. Behind the scenes, he'd been through a lot and was working on a PC patch of Saints Row 2 before he passed from cancer. With Volition shelled, it's unlikely that it'll see the light of day. RIP. He'll forever be a Gentleman of the Row.

This was a great video, dude; I got into the Saints Row series because of this game, and kind of wish I had started on an earlier game. I played it on PS4, which meant I thankfully avoided some of the glitches on PS5, but it still had the occasional bug. What really irked me is it had some great stuff that it could draw from, but it didn't use it, and from an interview another youtuber did, this game would have been amazing if they did. Hell, some of the challenges didn't work, and once you finished the game, it got boring EXTREMELY quickly

This Reboot was one big "We Told Them So" As Gangster Shoot Em' Up Fanatics. All we asked the devs to consider keep it gangsta, find a way to keep it's game core...,keep our beloved characters as well introduced us to new supporting characters....&:produce a great story.....This game would of went toe to toe with even "Cyberpunk 2077". Like i said in a few other coments on videos such as this. The reboot should have picked up right after the end of saints row 2. To be cheaper they could have kept the syndicate from 3 but changed the story to be more gang based, as if they were waiting for the gangs and ultor to tear eachother apart and swoop in on the victorious saints as they fly away in the ending helicopter. The map now includes both stilwater and... steelport? To make it easier on the system they could exist separately as your go between both. But they had so much to work with. With the og cast still and just dropped the ball

Very great video though one thing i thought odd you saying was the "Cars shouldn't have health bars" well technically yeah i know the nerd stuff. All games really had hidden health bars with cars the only i would say in my 29 years of life the best concept of a car with health and realism with how it would get destroyed with bullets is Mafia 2 where you can shoot the fuel pump area of the car and it will instantly ignite the fuel in there and explode the car. The salesfigures are kinda inflated to at least some degree. The game hadn't even been around that long until it was free on PSN as a part of their monthly free games. One thing SR2 instills in you real quick, is that you are just as fragile as the people you're killing. Especially at the start. I remember doing the casino mission with Johnny. How I had to take cover and heal constantly just to stay alive. Or how if you get ran over or set on fire, you're just dead. Straight up. The game had that nice power fantasy while also making you just frail enough that you can die if you get reckless.

True story. This game was on XBox Free Play Days once. They were letting you play this game FOR FREE, albeit temporarily... And I still refused to download and play it! That's how bad this game was for me!

The aiming was so dogshit that I turned the auto aim to the max and just spammed the key to hit headshots and get the encounters over with quicker.
