The Sakura Trees of Toronto (Canadiana Shorts)

Victoria has had Sakura trees since before the war. More than one thousand were planted throughout Victoria in 1937 to commemorate Victoria's 75th anniversary of incorporation. They blossom for more than two months of the year from mid-February to late April.

It's a pity you couldn't come to see cherry blossoms in their splendor in Vancouver. I mean, they're not just in parks and the viewing season is widely celebrated here on a scale much larger than in Toronto.

@@thesage1096 Kind of, actually it goes back to my sister's wedding about 18 years ago. My uncle was having a good time and crowd surfing, but from a distance it looked like he was floating in the air, approximately 6 inches above the ground. This is how my cousin described it. Interestingly enough, I haven't seen my cousin in about 10 years - the last time I met him was when I bumped into him at the beer store.

It's a sad fact that many immigrants hold allegiance to their country of origin. Internment camps, although unpopular these days, were, and are necessary in war time. Think I'm wrong? Take a look at the Palestinian protests all across the world right now. They don't care at all about Canada or whatever country they live in now. Their allegiance is with their terrorist middle eastern origins. A nation can be politically correct with disastrous results, or take the necessary precautions to keep their country/citizens safe.
