A perfect hike through Grasmere in the Lake District, up past Easedale Tarn and onto Blea rigg-Sergeant Man and Tarn Crag back into Grasmere staying overnight in the village, so looking forward to it in May. These boots/shoes are very comfy I believe, so I think they'd be great to put them to the test on this venture.

I have both the Mtn Trainers 1 and Alp Trainers 2 and can say, if you hike in easier terrain, not rocky or not scree then the Alp Trainer is a better option. They are more flexible and cushy. I'm using those as my main boot now for my weekend hikes. The Mtn Trainers were definitely the right choice for when I went to Durmitor in Montenegro.

I'm booked to go to Skomer Island off Pembrokeshire next month to see the puffins and other wildlife. There are 80+ steps to go up when you arrive and rugged paths, so the rubber protection around the bottom of the shoe will be great. It could also be pouring with rain, so having some truly waterproof shoes would be great.

Bought these from Bedminster. Standout feature is low volume and a snug precise fit. However their weakness was only revealed when I wore them outside scrambling: poor grip. I was constantly slipping on rock- never experienced anything like it, lost confidence and went down. I can’t take them back now so I’ll just use them on trails and get a different boot for the mountains.

The shoe will be perfect for my sky high rise adventure in New York. Looks robust enough for a full day trek up the Empire state building and style aplenty for the obligatory shopping in Macy's. Can't wait.

I'm about to retire and plan a trip to the Galapagos Isle walking rather than boat based and on to Easter Isles followed by a slow wonder up the UK visiting the peak district Yorkshire moors Scotland for some extended walking. Before that are my weekly walks are on Dartmoor and a quick trip to Lundy. Next year plan to trek to K2 base camp. The MNT mid boots sounds like the boot for me.

Off to the Brecon Beacons to do some landscape photography and it would be great to be going these boots. One thing with these gear reviews, it would be nice to have one of your staff using them for six months or so and then doing a follow up video on what they liked and things to be aware of from actual use. For example, as we all know, some things get more comfy as they bed in, others wear in places that you only find by use.
