I have a pair of XT-4 advanced and they’re hands down the best shoes I own. I put them through all terrain and no heal drag I’ve had them since feb 2022 it’s December soon. 😅

salomon's in general are nice (i own a few pairs of their older hiking boots), but it feels like the XT-6 has taken off because of rappers and celebs wearing them. it's neat but it feels like salomon has cheaped out a bit on the XT-6 since they've blown up -- just go check out reviews on their site. lots of heel cup break-in issues with torn fabric on the inner of the heel cup, people complaining about the paint overlay on the inner ankle and toe box smudging and being gouged down to the mesh underneath. if you're only wearing these every so often it might not be an issue, but as a daily driver you're going to experience these issues faster. the XT-4 seems like a more durable shoe because of the carbon fibre-style overlays and rubberized toebox reinforcements. salomon tends to fit pretty narrow, so be sure to try them on in-store or at an online retailer that will allow you to return them.
