actually when it comes to the colour scale. Red and blue are opposites while green is opposite yellow. and then comes the secondary 4 where as Orange is the opposite of purple and pink is opposite of brown. it gets confusing after that but if you understand the colour wheel enough it makes sense. (it's a headache, trust me. it's like working on a 4 sided graph with negative and positive integers)
