I'm so glad I discovered 'The Samples' back in 2020 during the early days of COVID here in the UK. They essentially became the soundtrack to my lockdown and their music 100% helped me through some tricky times! I'm a musician, so I didn't gig for nearly 18months, but I'd listen to this song constantly throughout lockdown and it kept me going and it helped me stay in love with music and what I do. It was so refreshing to have discovered this band when I did. This song in particular always takes me back to my quiet, peaceful wintery walks back in 2020 when I'd walk through a nearby woodland. Maybe it's a bit of unhealthy nostalgia that, in a way, I kind of miss those times a bit ... life seemed simpler. Musically speaking, I love their sound, Sean's voice, the lyrics ... and Jeep McNicol is such an inspiration and influence to my drumming! I particularly like his use of splash cymbals and his hi-hat work. Criminally underrated band. Sure, I've been a huge Dave Matthews Band fan for years, but this band hits a different spot entirely and I'm very grateful for that. Great to see that they're still around and performing over in the US, I do hope they come to the UK one day but we'll see. For now, I'm still listening to them daily and these videos from the 90s are an awesome insight! X

I really love this comment. They’re a special band. Reminds me of 2007-10 era, a great time in my life and a time marked by big changes. To this day these songs make me feel nostalgic for many things. Their music has an ethereal quality to it that makes it easy for me to access emotions and memories; it cuts through the noise of the “real world” and allows me to reflect on memories, people, and the things that actually matter.

Ya he could. I wonder if he ever made it back from his escape. I love these guys.
