I find the sampling, chopping, and assigning to pads on Push/Ableton so much more immediate than MPC or anything else. It's all just right there. You can chop and keep it in a simpler without having to assign to anything and convert to drum rack immediately to adjust parameters of each chop independently. Push is the greatest. Haha
@LowHeatBeats

Yeah, it's awesome indeed. Maschine is really good too, just with the additional step of applying the chops but sampling on it is super smooth.

@@bobanova2283 I haven't. I've watched a good amount of videos and it actually looks great for how I make songs overall, but from what I understand it doesn't have odd time signature or time signature changes. I do a lot off odd time stuff haha. That's why I got rid of the Akai Force. 4/4 global time only ☹️

Which do you tend to chop mostly in: Maschine or Push 2? The warping feature seems super hard to match.
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats 8 ай бұрын
Maschine for when I want to be more hands-on and not use the mouse, Ableton when I want more flexibility and powerful features such as the warping. But when I use Ableton I don't work from Push exclusively, mostly keyboard and mouse and use Push just to lay down drums, sample chops, etc.

Is there a way to simulate the warp of Maschine as ableton live? Whats I want Is to pitch up or down in my Mmk3 without change the leght of the sample
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
Yes, this aspect of the warping can be done in Maschine. If you load a loop in the audio module you can change the pitch without changing the tempo. However you can't play a sample like an instrument in the sampler and still have it retain the tempo like you can in Ableton.

Which version of Ableton you recommend if I decide to get a push 3?
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
It depends on how you're planning to use it. It comes with Live Intro, which is limited to 16 tracks, but that can actually be sufficient for a lot of cases. Standard is fully featured and unlimited but doesn't have nearly as many sound packs and synths as Suite, which is the biggest and has everything. Why not get it with the basic offering with Intro and then upgrade to the version that you need? You will pay the same amount for the upgrade anyways, plus you may catch a sale in the autumn.

@@LowHeatBeats I was interested in using the Push 3 in standalone. I wanted to make sure the unit is fully loaded with sounds. Do it comes with sounds built-in the unit ?
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
@@vinylselektaz6475 Yes, of course, it comes with a decent sound library of everything you need to get you started. Anyways, you can check out the comparison chart on Ableton's website between the different versions of Live and decide for yourself. They have demos of all the packs, etc. I think if you're new to Live there's nothing wrong with starting with Intro and upgrading later. Ultimately, it's up to you and your preference.

@@seth5394 Note editing isn't quite as quick on Push 2 and you don't have all the possibilities but you're controlling Live on your computer anyway, so you can do it with the mouse much faster. I’m surprised ableton didn’t create a capture ‘audio’ feature .
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
One thing about Ableton is that they are conservative with adding new features until they figure out a way to implement them in the most elegant and fluid way possible. So while capture MIDI was instroduced 5-6 years ago there maybe there's a technical reason why we can't do the same with audio yet.
@pongtrometer
@pongtrometer Жыл бұрын
@@LowHeatBeats Yeah sure I hear you, but now that there is the multiple takes feature for recording, I'm sure they are are capable of implementing that by now in a digital era .. I've been using the 'audio' capture when ever I'm jamming ideas in ' BESPOKE ' modular DAW, with 'jumpback' times of up to 30mins, which you can set the amount in preferences... 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpavoIKqm5t7eMk
@LowHeatBeats
@LowHeatBeats Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm sure they are - the question is what would be the user experience of using it and how it would work with their audio engine that's optimized for live performance. Everything should happen without audio stopping and glitching. But also, I wouldn't be surprised if we see it in Live 12, that would be a welcome addition.
@pongtrometer
@pongtrometer Жыл бұрын
well I use it with no audio glitching, before sp404mk2 implemented jump back...I was running my SP555 into BESPOKE DAW, whilst creating ideas as normal with the bonus of of a 30 min audio buffer....yeah I think it should be in before v12. There is something about capturing the audio that has as energy that is raw and makes resampling fresh. @@LowHeatBeats cheers

So you’re saying Ableton engineers haven’t considered carefully what’s the best option? The r&d for the standalone Push has been going on for 10 years (yes even before P2).
