Hey @Brian Barczyk I totally agree and after having gone and so far done some research I have completely agree that the entire thing is disgusting all I can keep thinking every time I see an interview with one of the ex employees Is 3 things!! 1) how In the world did they even say yes to it most of them say that as soon. As they walked it it blew there mind and stunk so idk about u but I don't care what story came behind the animals he keeps blaming not having employees he could have cleaned it himself I understand it cost money for enclosures (in my opinion he shouldn't have had them if he couldn't house then properly)but morals aside it is free for him to clean it #2. Like brian k said how did u not call animal control and take pics ur self of all the shit u saw #3 and what bothered me the most some were there for over a year how dare u idc what u say how could u call ur self an animal lover and have chosen to stay there f.y.i I've left gas station job bec there breathing air was Terrible from mold I absolutely can not imagine the mold growth in that facility ❤😮 idk I'd have to be soulless to work there

I understand. I started training dogs when I was 8, was a Jr Handler in AKC and was in the dog program in 4-H. That was in the 70s. My nickname was Fido. By the time I started middleschool, some older kids had started a rumor that my dog died and I carried her around the school for days until the made me go home because she was rotting. Um, my dog was bigger than me so I could never have able to pick her up....and wow, she was in the house Alive when I left for school!!!! Purina paid for my college and I was in Dog World Magazine at 14 yr old. They still bullied me. I still train and show. What is funny is I'm a retired breeder, imported European longcoat German Shepherds, I always had a 1-2yr waiting list for pups. Those same people that were mean in school now do the like/love crap on my FB Page. If they would have applied for a pup, I probably would have thrown it away. I survived because of my dog. But mean people are probably mean to their animals too.

Had rats as a kid too. I remember my teacher letting me bring my rat in for a report I was doing. Had her in a lil to go cage with all her fav snacks and toys. She was very well behaved at the school lol. I remember kids thought she was weird until they saw her just chilling on my shoulder and eating. Its the cute tiny hands. Gets them every time.

This letter is heartbreaking. Children are so innocent. How is it even possible that a 12 year old is suicidal? What is wrong with the world? She should be playing with her friends, joking around, get a crush on some cute boy....I'm SOOOO happy that she'll get her beloved snake. This little girl looked into the abyss and she will do better than all of us. But I know what it's like. My snakes save my life, too. I would do anything for them. They deserve the best. the pressures of school, esp middle school is overwhelming. it doesn't end at the door either, now days w/ the cyberbulling and things. And it's the big things, but more the small little nit pick things that no one notices and chip away at the heart and soul. My girl was 16 when she called the suicide hotline. A mix of undx depression, anxiety and med change threw her down a deep hole. It was a scary time and she fought her way out and is now 20, almost 21 w the bright future I had always hoped for her. Dear Petals owner... you are loved. You are needed and you matter.

Personally, I became suicidal around a bit older then that but still a young teen due to the start of puberty, and the very undesirable changes happening to my mind and body, which while probably not the situation happening to the person in the video, was my reason and other trans children's reasons -- which is on of the reasons the anti-trans-care legislation is killing children (both for preventing care and promoting hate and bigotry). Not the only reason for child/teenage suicide, but is a reason. Others are abuse, bullying, not having a good social circle, biological mental health issues, etc.

Dang it! Made me cry, too. Petal is getting a good reptile mama! And yes, we CAN feel that way about reptiles. For the first year or so, of having our crested geckos, I used to tear up when looking into their little, derpy faces. They probably have no clue how much I love them, but I do. Glad you made this video. I totally agree with everything you said. As for bullying, no matter why the person says they are doing it, is one of the most disgusting things people can do. The letter broke my heart and made me feel good at the same time. Brian, you have a good heart, and put out good messages. More people need to be like that. Brian, I wanted to put this comment separately from my other one. You need to know this!!!! What you are doing with Petal is going to save that girls life. Trust me. I had a longcoat German Shepherd pup that I held back from a litter. She was the Only pup I kept for me to show, and now I'm retired. Right after I retired, my plans for that pup changed. I Loved that little girl. She was fully trained and at this point a young adult but a person that met her, that was going through the same things as your young person and had already attempted, needed her more than I needed her. You would not believe the instant bond they made. She somehow Knew that she was needed. It was unbelievable to see. It was like when the cancer dogs detect cancer in a person. She wasn't obnoxious, she was loving..... she looked in his eyes, snuggled his neck, put her head on his lap.... acted like, "I have you, I'm here." There were discussions and a lot of get togethers for human training. I finally said goodbye to my dream showdog, who now has a full-time job as a certified support dog. That pup is now a dog and just turned 5. That person has an apartment now....a job and is doing very well. I cried for because I loved that dog but I still get to see her every couple of months and she is where she was born to be. God put those paths to cross ✝️ I just had to be brave enough to listen. Animals are so much more than pets if we let them be. You are doing an Amazing thing.

I hope that little girl has a long happy life with Petal. I'm in my young 20's and I was there too as a child. I just got my first snake, a ball python, in February. I love her to death and the desire to take care of her and handle her motivates me to get out of bed and live life. Before her I had aquariums and house plants that did the same. I don't know how I'd live happily without cultivating life around me. That little girl has a heart of gold. We should keep animals because we are fascinated by them and appreciate and love them, not for money or to show off to others. The ability of humans to appreciate and cultivate other forms of life is one of our most beautiful and redeeming qualities.

You may think this was a negative video but it was the complete opposite. Yes the situations that the snakes were in were deplorable yet you shown how compassionate reptile owners/breeders really are. You talked about facts of Sampson not degrading anyone only he can degrade himself. Then the letter bless that child's heart. Thank you so much for making this video. I had seen some posts on Facebook but had no idea what was really going on. I’m glad you only showed one picture. That one picture was enough! No words can even describe the disgrace of that situation. The little girl is right….the animals save us! And you are right. We can always do better! We lost our cat in December and one of our dogs last week. A puppy came into our lives by fluke in August and she came to save us! I gave my previous dog a good home (he was a rescue) but now I know more about dogs I know I could have done better. I strive to provide more enrichment, exercise and love to my second one. We can always improve and do better! 💜

After I defeated addiction I was alone no friends and my life was boring and falling further into depression. Then my oldest daughter introduced egg cutting videos to me. It was over from there. I had a new hobby and I found love again. These things have done so much for me. They gave me a companion. They gave me a purpose. They gave me someone to talk to i don't feel lonely no more and knowing that these things depend on me really gave me a new look at life. Ty for sharing that letter. I really wish there was a way to get stories like the one in your letter out there as well as mine. Keep doing what your doing dude. If it's not you inspiring some one I'm sure your hatchlings will.

Oh Brian... What you've helped that young lady overcome... I am so overwhelmed with emotion for that sweet girl. I was bullied all through my school years and completely understand the devastating effects that it can have. I'm so very glad that she has found a way to overcome the negative aspects of her life and I know Petal will live a long, happy life with her Soul Sister. This was truly meant to be and I'm grateful that you've shared this with us. I hope the two of them have amazing adventures together for many years to come. Kindness and Understanding are 2 things that are often lacking in the world. I hope those bullies realize how wrong they are some day and do something to "right the wrongs" they have committed against innocent people who didn't deserve their mistreatment.

Thank you for making this video. The community as a whole needs to self-regulate, otherwise people like Samson will ruin things for everyone in the community, and give the community a bad reputation to outsiders, and law makers. Darien is amazing for what he is doing in regards to morph market, and banning people like Samson. Ty is amazing for using his reach and resources to help save whatever animals he can from that facility. There is no excuse for the majority of the photos. There's no excuse that he didn't just get out of keeping animals after the dog fighting incident. He couldn't walk away from the statist those animals brought him - be it pit bulls or one of the largest snakes you can get in captivity. He is a textbook narcissist, charming, but ultimately only cares about himself. He had to have the most retics, he had to be the biggest name in retics, even though he wasn't capable or interested in properly care for the hoards of animals in his care. A narcissist like him cannot accept being regular/normal/reasonable, and part of me believes that he is getting an ego stroke from all of this attention right now. This info needs to get out, and we need to make sure this community doesn't forget, and doesn't allow Samson or people like him to "slither" their way back into the good graces of the passionate people in this community. The reptile/retic community doesn't have to take a hit from this - we just need to cut out the cancer and move on.

I really appreciate your honesty and accountability on these matters. That’s the most important thing. And as someone who was a suicidal depressed young girl who was saved by my animals and the love I have for them I know how much petal will mean to her. Ipetal will be going to an amazing home and be very loved. The leopard gecko I had as a teenager I had until my late 20s , I had her hidden in my university accommodation for 3 years and have her tattooed on my leg. I’m sure petal will be that snake for this young girl. Children are awfully cruel things a lot of the time.

I appreciate that you are taking responsibility for a past video. It is always difficult to admit you are wrong but to do so just shows that you genuinely care about the subject. I watched that interview, I do not fault you for feeling the same way I did when I first saw it. You made this video once you found out what was going on, when you found out he was lying to you. You were manipulated. It happens to the best of people. You were still a good person, speaking up has now made you an excellent person. That letter...I've never cried so quickly. Sadly those bad apples usually stick out more and what everyone focuses on. That child that wrote that letter is an Angel and truly wish them the best. I wish there were more children with her passion. To many people are afraid of things they don’t know about and don’t bother to educate themselves properly and just decide to live with that stigma and fear. Thank you for not showing more than one photo. They’re important to see for reducing similar travesties, but hearing the gruesome details (even vaguely) has been enough to surmise how bad it is. I think we all feel tremendously awful by the torture those animals went through, we wish we could’ve done more (directly or indirectly), and we just hope this isn’t a “good” example for another person to copy in the future for their own reasons. I completely agree it’s disgusting, and thank you for this video. Thank you for the person you’ve tried to be to all people, including the horrid owner who you wanted to give the benefit of the doubt (before the truth was known). 🌸 To Petal’s new owner, you will be an amazing owner. Every sentiment of love you have for your new friend/baby/angel is beautiful and touches my heart.
