He needs to play this year. The Sharks letting player rot in the AHL is getting frustrating. With the addition of Askarov it's both funny and ridiculous look at this: Out of all players drafted in the first round of the 2020 NHL draft, the ONLY players that have yet to play 20+ games in the NHL are: - Askarov, 11th overall (Sharks, but it's fine for a goalie) - Amirov, 15th overall (Leafs, literally dead, RIP) - Mukhamadulin, 20th overall (Sharks) - Jacob Perreault (Ducks) - Brisson, 29th overall (Knights) - Bourque, 30th overall (Dallas) - Wiesblatt, 31st overall (Sharks) So half of those players are from the same org now ... this is a trend and a very big outlier even if we exclude Askarov because we just acquired him.

I think that Zetterlund deserves also to be mentioned, he is a little bit older to be considered prospect, but I definitely see him being a very important piece in this rebuild. The work he is putting in this preseason is insane, wouldn't be surprised if he scores 30 + this season.

I think Mukhamadullin will have a big year for the AHL this year and will prove he belongs at least as a very good 2nd paring D. Also don't sleep on Pohlkamp, he's also very underrated and his stocks is starting to grow a lot, he's starting to bloom very well" I'd also keep an eye on Rimashevskiy, he's having some very good moment, especially since he was a 7th round and there's maybe potential for bottom 6

Mike Grier has become my favorite GM in the NHL. U'm very impressed by what he's doing. That's exactly how a rebuild should be done. Tear down everything and rebuild it from scratch. On the opposite, Steve Yzerman, is doing everything you should not do in a rebuild by trying to cut corners.

Something that you didn't mention in the video is the possibility that when further along in the rebuild, the sharks can swing a trade for an established top 6 forward or top 4 defenseman. They will be very rich in terms of assets and the likes of Guschkin and Bordeleau may not fit into the future plans and could be used in a trade. You can tell that Grier won't be afraid to do it given the fact that he just gave two first round assets up in a trade.

I really hope the Sharks add something on D. DIckinson has the size, but a more physical Brent Burns type would be ideal. Someone who brings an offensive threat would be great, but I'm more worried about toughening up the back end to protect the goalies. Ceci's a nice addition, but I personally don't think that's the long term solution. I'm really optimistic about the Sharks' future, but they can't ignore that they have to have a level of protection for their assets.

Gushchin needs to be a Top 6 winger. His offensive upside is crazy. He will always be a defensive liability. Might as well max out his positives and play him with elite players. I would drop Eklund to 2nd/ 3rd line. Just to add balance to the lineup. He’s proven he can drive play and be productive on a lesser line/team.

A couple of things that I don't 100% agree on: 1. As other have said, you're WAY off on Shakir. Having watched a lot of miserable Cuda games, he's extremely good 2. Erik Pohlkamp is a very good middle/bottom pairing potential RHD that wasn't mentioned. Developing extremely well 3. Rimashevsky is a guy who often (understandably) gets left off lists but is a bit of a wild card. May be a career KHL guy, but could be a middle/top 6 NHLer as well 4. Ethan Cardwell is an absolute gamer. Skilled, hardworking, physical. I have no doubt he'll be an NHLer whether it be a middle 6 or 4th line role. 5. Also I think Bordeleau and Gushchin deserve a bit higher praise

Future Dynasty?… Not too sure about that, Not saying they won’t be good because I think they will be good, But a dynasty I just don’t see it.. I think they need to get some more size in their prospect pool. Which they have these past couple drafts, But I think they need more mean size, Like the Xhekaj brothers for example, Or Luke Tuch some mean size… They are on the right path I just wouldn’t say “future dynasty”… Chernyshov is a player I really like that they drafted and he’s the type of size they need more of… Chernyshov and Musty beside Celebrini is going to be dangerous in my opinion, That is your first line of the future, Two hard skating Power forwards with wicked shots on the wings of a Super smart phenomenal two way player like Celebrini… Mark my words that is the San Jose Sharks first line of the future… They are in good hands I just don’t see a dynasty with what they have right this second… In my honest opinion The Ducks and The Habs have a chance to be dynasties in the NHL with the chance to win 2-3 cups, Either the Habs or Ducks have that chance with what those teams have coming up and who they have right now… This is just my honest opinion, If the sharks get another player like Porter Martone, Or Roger McQueen, Or James Hagens in the 2025 NHL draft then I’ll start to lean on the side of Potential dynasty, But sharks my get to the 2025 draft and pull a Chicago and pass on a player like they did with Demidov lmao… So we don’t know, We shall see. I can 100% see a cup in the future for San Jose with what they have now in their pool, But they need to add some more pieces to their backend and more mean depth size for me to say they have the potential to be a dynasty… In my opinion they need one more Top 6/elite player, An Elite/Top 4 Minute Munching RHD with size, And More depth in the bottom 6.. If they get those pieces this team could be dangerous… It’s hard to find an elite RHD and i think this upcoming draft in 2025 they will be looking for one… Or even in a trade, If they can get a RHD who is offensive and can play a lot of minutes to pair with Dickinson this team is almost there… I’m sure San Jose will figure it out in the next couple of years either they trade for what they need or draft what they need, They CANNOT sign what they need! Stay away from that in my opinion, I do not like the moves they made getting Toffoli, Wennberg, I know they need to fill some spots but I don’t like the Toffoli deal, Hopefully the Sharks stay away from what Detroit is doing, Detroit will fail in my opinion, They shouldn’t have signed players the way they have recently, The sharks should stay away from that, Do what Montreal did let the rebuild run its course, Give it another 2 seasons, Montreal has been really really smart with the moves they have made San Jose should do the same, Ottawa, Detroit and even Buffalo have made mistakes along the way and it has hurt them…
