A reporter who is an alumni of Nebraska, decided to target Prime by finding a disgruntled former player. That player was a part of a long 2 weeks of attacks on Deion (2 years). So in response, Deion’s son says he didn’t remember the player who was at the school before he got there and wasn’t there long. Fans used to say that football was becoming soft. Now “fans” are showing why football got softer. Because of them and their frail feelings.

I can’t put all the blame on the young man. Max Olsen the reporter went out of his way to find this young man. As an experienced journalist he probably asked him pointed questions that enabled him to get the responses he wanted. For all we know, certain facts were left out of the article. This could be a case of a person having moved on until someone dragged them back in.

I hate to see what has happened, but you can’t kick a horse for so long before they kick you back. Now personally I wish they had not responded because just like #2 said he didn’t even remember who the guy was…. Did that sound arrogant..YES! But at the end of the day…that’s the point, no one even knows who that young man is. They had a whole year to talk about their exit from CU and they pick now, with the new season gearing up to talk about it. I know lots of guys are in the portal and leaving…. I can respect a media report on those guys. Someone that was on that 1-11 team should not still be talking about this. Speaks volumes and shows that you clearly don’t have what it takes to be on the team. If this guy was all that why didn’t he go on to be picked up by a good team and show all this “talent” he has. Prime showed up and let them know everyone won’t be getting a trophy.

Depending on your perspective we have either 2 or 4 cheeks to turn. When you’re continually attacked using falsehoods and innuendo, after turning all your cheeks you have to clap back. In some cases, remaining silent does more harm than good and frankly I think this was one of those cases. No matter how a reader chooses to view the article, it alludes to player mistreatment and the University condoning their mistreatment. It casts the entire university in a negative light. The clap back was definitely in order. The reason for the clap back is what’s out of order and should be questioned. My question is what will Buff Nation do about it? I stopped reading anything The Athletic publishes several months ago because it practices yellow journalism, a style of reporting that emphasizes sensationalism rather than fact. They seem to go out of their way to produce sensational articles by overhyping actual events to present a biased impression in order to manipulate the truth. They contacted a former player for the sole purpose of using him to further their agenda to discredit the University of Colorado. IMO, once it’s proven an entity has an uneasy relationship with the truth, then anything they say from that point on is suspect at best.

This year with the squad he is building they are capable to going way beyond that and still they will find something negative because it's coach Deion. The goal post keeps moving.

Alot of those who have hypercritical views on what happened this week seem to be too young to realize just how much Prime has actually ignored over 35+ years of being in the public eye. How much he hasn't said. How much he hasn't clapped back on. I wasn't a big Prime fan when he was in the league but I did respect the restraint. No social media to correct the record. What was said about him simply stands today because it's in print with no ability to correct the narrative in real time. When he has made time to respond it's been almost exclusively to defend his family. He's now explained the Tim McCarver situation was because the things he was saying upset Miss Connie. But in real time it just stood as poor behavior for no apparent reason. The fire can come at him all day because he signed up for it when he created the Prime persona. Everyone directly connected to him catch strays loaded for decades and aimed at him. If you generate a response from him, then somehow it's a "win" but if you don't like the tenor and tone of that response then he's somehow wrong. You can't swing on someone and then not like how or when they swing back. I'm just glad he doesn't cuss 😂

There’s a lot to unpack here. Deion is a change agent. He is disrupting historically racist institution college football in the new world of play for pay and player empowerment, while simultaneously taking control of his narrative, challenging racial stereotypes, and standing on faith. The enemy hates Deion. Doing all of this and a complete rebuild at the same time is no small task and requires tough coach. Well, Deion is as tough as nails and won’t back down to anyone-not even to a professional football player who wants to be treated like he’s still a college student and a kid (or a spoiled weed-smoking one). He should have been more nice to me? Please. Only one question remains; will Coach Prime successfully complete his mission before the CU administration looses its political will and sells him out?? God please guide and protect Deion Sanders 🙏🏾

@@AlyssiaLeLeLegette Thank you, Alyssia (sorry for the long response, but there's so much here😀). Coach Prime took a 1-11 team to 4-8 in year 1, and this record could have easily been 8-4. Either way, Coach Prime demonstrated proof of concept that he is a bonafide Power 4 head coach and that a team could be rebuilt largely through the portal with the right leader. Prior to Coach Prime, CU hired and fired 5 coaches in 5 years and was considering doing away with the football program all together. Rick George hired the only man he knew that was capable of resurrecting CU football. To be clear, it was an act of desperation. Rebuilds typically take 5 years, but Coach Prime has essentially done it in one! More than the final year for Shedeur and Travis, year 2 will cement Coach Prime approach and mark him one of the greatest coaches ever. I have CU going 9-3 in the new BIG12, but they could very likely do better. The naysayers will say otherwise, but mark my words--besides, time is on my side. What's going on in Boulder, CO, is truly miraculous. The implications of Coach Prime's success are far reaching and too vast to discuss here. I just pray that the saboteurs are not set on destroying Coach Prime and his family to prevent it from happening. Can always count on Unc to be an apologist for coach prime. Of course coach have the rights to respond, but does he have an obligation to respond to social media? Yes he has the time but is it worth it? Coach lost 8 games in a row, including a game up by 28 points! He needs to get out his feelings and stop some of that Louie from jumping in the portal. I like coach prime, but he's bigger that this nonsense!

What Louis jumped in the portal? How much did that Louis that jumped in the portal contribute? I’ll wait. I got time today …

@grizUSMC0331 the question was not whether he was replaceable, of course he is, the question was which Louie jumped into the portal.
